
Context clues: using the language, punctuation, and
ideas in a sentence or story to help figure out unknown
words.


The purpose of fiction is often to tell a story. The
purpose of poetry is often to tell a story and convey
emotions.

You will write a 1 sentence summary for every 2
stanzas(9 total). The summary should include an
emotion word. How does the speaker feel at this point
in the text?

You need to back up your summary/ your interpretation
of the speakers emotion by including a quote from the
text.
