Founded in 2001
After his mother passed
away, Michael went to
live with his grandmother.
Despite her best efforts,
she was soon overwhelmed
with the daily challenges of
caring for Michael with his
developmental disabilities
and hearing impairment.
She reached out to Caring
Solutions and together we
decided to place Michael with
one of our host families.
Today, Michael is happy at
home and is active in his job
and volunteer activities. He
has learned to communicate
through sign language and
enjoys dancing to the beat
of pop music. His progress
has made his grandmother
so proud!

Meet
by Madeleine Hawn, Caring Solutions focuses
on designing services around each individual.
From the start, Madi recognized the need to
provide programs for people instead of simply
putting people into existing programs.
When we incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization, the board of directors chose the
name Services By Design. Shortly thereafter
the name was changed to Caring Solutions
to emphasize the quality of care provided to
individuals and families.
Our mission
is to design and provide
services to meet the unique needs of children
and adults with developmental disabilities and
their families, giving them the opportunity
to lead fulfilling lives.

How you can help
Because it’s about
people, not programs...
At Caring Solutions, we design
and provide individualized
services for adults and children
with developmental disabilities
so they can lead fulfilling lives.
The families we serve see the
amazing potential of their loved
ones, and we do too. They trust
us with their child or loved one.
We treat them as family and put
their needs first.

An individualized
approach with
dignity & respect
Working in partnerships with families,
we focus on what is possible for each person,
and design and provide the needed services
to reach those outcomes.
We are dedicated to serving needs in a manner
that maintains the dignity and respect of
both the individual with the developmental
disability and the employee working for
that person.
We can provide services in the family home,
in the home of a host family, in a supported
living home (ISL), in a companion home, or
in respite. Support may be provided for a few
hours a month or 24 hours a day/seven days
a week, depending on what the family needs.
Your support makes
better lives possible
While primary funding for most of the
individuals we serve comes from the
Missouri Department of Mental Health,
Caring Solutions could not deliver all that is
needed for each person without the support
of caring individuals and organizations. Gift
dollars provide essential needs and enhanced
services including monthly housing expenses,
medical needs, community activities and
training. And all start-up costs for new clients
depend on charitable financial giving.
Your support can make a difference in
your neighborhood, your community, and
throughout our region. Thank you for giving
children and adults with developmental
disabilities the love, support and care
they need to discover the best of their abilities.
Thank you for being a critical part of the
Caring Solutions family.
In addition to our volunteer
board of directors and advisory
council, we rely strongly on a
large and generous group of
caring volunteers who give their
time and resources to help with
fundraising activities including
a golf tournament, an annual
gala and more. We’d love to
connect with you to discover
opportunities for your support
and involvement.
