Why the Y Day Camp?
Scampers
YMCA day camps create
experiences that will last a
lifetime. Our child centered
approach to day camp is based
on the principals of YMCA
Healthy Child Development. Our
talented and engaging staff team
have a criminal record check,
Standard First Aid and CPR and
go through a week of camp
oriented training to ensure your
children receive the high level of
care you expect.
Our Scampers camp is located
at the Strathroy-Caradoc
Family YMCA, Marilyn Buttery
Branch. This introduction to
camp provides your child the
opportunity to meet new friends,
participate in fun activities and
experience the structure of a full
day program. A great transition
for children going to school in the
fall or for children new to school
and need the continued structure
throughout the summer. No
matter what, your child will have
lots of fun!

Child Protection
Policy
You have trusted us with the
safety of your child and the YMCA
takes that very seriously. Keeping
your child safe is our number one
priority and many safe guards
have been put in place. All of our
staff must provide a clean criminal
reference check that includes
vulnerable sector screening.
The camp staff are obligated to
document and report any form of
child abuse that they witness or
suspect, in regards to the campers
in our care.
The YMCA of Western Ontario has
adopted a sign in/out procedure
that includes asking all parents,
guardians or caregivers, that
will pick up a child from camp,
to provide a valid piece of
photo identification each day.
Individuals not authorized to pick
up your camper or that refuse to
show photo identification, will not
be permitted to sign the camper
out of program.
Camper Behaviour
Campers are expected to model
the YMCA core values of respect,
responsibility, caring and honesty.
Campers who can not meet
these expectations, or become
aggressive or violent will be
removed from the camp program.
No refunds will be given for
campers removed for behavioural
reasons.
Parent information guides will be
emailed upon request.
YMCA Strong Kids
YMCA Strong Kids is
focused on raising
much needed funds
to give kids the
opportunities they
need to live healthier, happier
lives now. Last year through YMCA
Strong Kids 221 children were able
to experience Day Camp.
