Dorothy Raney, Ali Lann, Lou Rochelle, Rose M Elgin and others in 2001. The quilt
was assembled in 2017 by Mary Reed, Beverly Puttman, Robbie Smith and Barb Irish

Sunbonnet Sue is a familiar traditional pattern that dates from the 1800’s. It was often
found on children’s beds. Sunbonnet Sue is displayed in a variety of everyday
activities. She always has a bonnet but no facial expression. However, at a glance one
can see whether she is happy, angry, thinking, or speaking love. She is timeless.
This quilt can be washed on delicate in a front load washer and laid flat for air drying.

Underground Railroad - 60 x 88 inches
Civil War Jubilee, Civil War Reunion and Civil War Crossing Fabric Lines by designer Barbara Brackman
"The history of the Underground Railroad has included many Quakers who helped aid
slaves in their escape to freedom in the North. There are stories told of the history
hidden in quilts, which were used to signal messages to runaway slaves. Certain quilt
blocks were possibly used as a code to guide the slaves to freedom and safety.
Whether part folklore and part history this Underground quilt is beautifully descriptive of
those messages and the rich stories of the pursuit of freedom by slaves yearning for a
better life." Fabrics selected and pieced by Ellen Morse and machine quilted by
Barbara Irish.
