Teachers,
My idea when creating this game was that the students would be able to self-correct after they play it with me in small
group first. I plan on printing them on a colored cardstock so they can’t see through to the other side. I will then draw
colored dots on the back of each matching set, so that when the students match them up they can flip them over and
check their answers. For example the set with ¼ may all have blue dots on the back, the 1/3 set may have red dots, and
so on. I also plan on having the students use the mini pocket charts I got from the dollar section of target when they
play this game. The headers for organizing are located at the top of this page, and the previous two pages have different
fraction sets. Below you will find the direction I will be using for my class.
Game Options:
1. Students play individually
2. Students play against each other…give each student a pocket chart, and have them each choose 4 fractions (the
number form cards) and then the first to have all four of their sets matched wins…then they can switch number
form cards and play again.
Fraction Match Up
Directions:
1. Find the four title cards and place them at the top of the pocket chart.
2. Spread the rest of the cards out face-up
3. Match the fraction sets (Number form, Word Form, Part of a Whole,
Part of a Group)
4. When a fraction set is complete (you have matched all 4 parts) flip the
cards over and see if the colored dots match…If they do match, great
job!...If they don’t match, try again.
