An abstract noun is talking about a thing that you cannot see or touch, like an
idea or an emotion, e.g. I was feeling sad until I fell in love.
A collective noun refers to groups of people or animals, e.g. That gaggle of
geese have scared away that herd of elephants.
Proper nouns are the actual names of individual people, animals, things, or
places, e.g. Tom is only a baby but he climbed Mount Everest.
Common nouns are things. Common nouns group together sets of things that
are similar, e.g. My cat Bozo is almost like other cats, except he has two tails.
Now put a tick in the right box to show what kind of noun each word is.
