Ladysmith Family and Friends- Family Centre (LaFF)
(For families and caregivers with children newborn to age six)
Ladysmith Family and Friends, better known as ‘LaFF’, is a Family Centre and non-profit society providing
inclusive, interactive opportunities for the development of children, families and community..
A great opportunity to meet with health and social service providers during the daily program… no need to make an appointment just
come, meet and spend time with the community nutritionist, speech pathologist, health nurse, dental hygienist (and more) when they pop
in to spend time at LaFF programs.
LaFF Mornings: Sept-June Mon-Fri from 9:30-12:00 ; July–Aug Tues and Thurs from 9:30-12:00 at Aggie Hall
Family Frolics: Oct – April Tuesdays from 5:45-6:45 at the Community Centre, 810-Sixth Ave, FJCC

Suggested minimum donation of $2.00 per family for all programming.

HEALTHY BEGINNINGS, HOSTED BY ISLAND HEALTH, FRIDAYS, 10-11:30
Held at the Ladysmith Community Health Centre in room 118. Program is for prenatal to children up to 12 months of age.
Healthy Beginnings is a weekly drop-in program open to all new moms and dads (and primary care givers) of infants.
Parents discuss their joys and concerns and share how they cope with the challenges of caring for a baby.
Guest speakers are invited to discuss topics of interest such as breastfeeding, speech and language development,
introducing solid foods, sleeping, teething, choosing child care and making the home safe for baby.
Groups are facilitated by public health nurses and other program staff. Call 250.755.3388 for more information.

During this week, on your regular collection day, the following additional oversized items will be picked up.

Carpets, Rugs and Mattresses**

Toy and Bicycles
** For the health and safety of the Collector, mattresses must be fully contained in plastic and be taped/sealed.
All items must be placed at the curbside the day BEFORE your regular collection day.
Items not on the above list will not be picked up. Please dispose of these items appropriately.
