Stamp Making and
Rust Dyeing with

Stamp Making
Stamping has many artistic uses with
paper and fabric. You will explore the
inexpensive process of making stamps,
including the use of items from home
and recyclables.
A most useful workshop for card makers,
paper and textile artists.
Saturday 14 June

Rust Dyeing
In this interesting workshop you will
learn how to dye fabrics using rusty
objects. The many uses for fabric dyed
with this method will be discussed and
explored. A materials list will be provided
on booking.

Introduction
to Oil Painting
Students will paint one subject
throughout the course, a photographic
source provided by the tutor. Learn
brush techniques, composition, how
to mix colours and the step-by-step
process for painting in a realistic or
representational style. Suitable for
beginners and students with some

What is watercolour and how does it work?
This course is for students who wish to
experience the different methods and
techniques of watercolour and how to
use them. Lessons will explore ‘wet in
wet’, layering of colours, mixed media,
pen and watercolour, as well as colour
properties, opaque, stains, etc.
This course is suitable for beginners and
those with some watercolour experience.

for Beginners
Just once a year is the opportunity to take
abstract painting classes with Joanna.
An introductory course for spring, to
discover the essence of abstract painting,
self expression, theory and practical work.
A new element every week. One hour
theory and one hour practical. Suitable

for Beginners
Techniques in painting with acrylics from
an absolute beginner’s perspective and

explore a new theme for a further 4

template to create your own beret.
17 June - Recycled Rag Rugs: several
techniques are taught to create a rug.
24 June - Fashion Scarf: a unique ‘no
knitting required’ result to wear home.
1 July - Basket making: create beautiful
baskets from recycled materials.

Decorative Arts
with Melanie-Joy
Two new sessions for all levels of
experience:
Fabulous Fascinators
Create your very own fascinator using
beads, buttons, fabric, feathers and other
trimmings. Be guided to achieve your
own ready to wear vision and design.
Saturday 7 June, 2.15 pm - 4.45 pm
including break for afternoon tea. $35
includes most materials. Adornments
provided. Basic fascinator materials
available to purchase on the day
($6-$10 depending on choice of
base materials).
Dolls and Decoration
Create a beautiful handmade doll using
fabric, beads and buttons. Be guided by
expressive artist Evi Photakis as guest
artist with Melanie-Joy. Bring a significant
object to incorporate into your doll.
Saturday 5 July 10.30 am - 2.30 pm
with break for light lunch, tea & coffee.
Bring a plate to share. $65 all materials
included.
