From challenges to opportunities” is a multi-layer project. The project aims to empower youth workers to use intercultural dialogue as a tool in combating intolerance towards other cultures, religions and nationalities, fostering mutual understanding and creating effective integration mechanisms for a more inclusive Europe. The project’s name embodies a question where possible answers have to be generated during the course of the project’s development and become its results. THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING COURSE ARE: o to promote European citizenship’s values; o to improve the level of competence and knowledge in the field of youth work, active citizenship and participation; o to raise awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries; o to encourage inter-cultural dialogue, multicultural diversity, social inclusion and cater for the needs of disadvantaged groups; o to foster new developments in the work of the participating organizations; o to enhance further cooperation; o to promote mobility and capacity building. THE ORGANIZERS Armenian Progressive Youth NGO (Armenia) was founded in 2009 by a group of young people in order to promote personal and professional growth of young people in Armenia and supporting the Civil Society development. Today it counts 10 employees, local and international volunteers, hundreds of members and followers, thousands of direct and indirect beneficiaries from Armenia and all over the European continent. The organization has already 6 years of experience in the fields of non-formal education, youth policies, volunteerism, human rights, gender equality, active citizenship and participation. The mission of APY is to promote active citizenship and active participation of young people in civic life, to increase the activism of young people and contribute to the development of civil society in Armenia. Active Ukrainians in Europe (Sweden) is a non-governmental organization. Its aim is to promote academic, cultural and political exchange, to participate in discussion about European citizenship, and to serve as a platform for meaningful collaboration between Ukrainian and international actors. AUE’s current activities focus on establishing and deepening dialogue about definition and principles of democracy, as well as its practical application in those states that are in transition. Ukraine and other transition states in Eastern Europe are of particular interest. All tickets' costs purchased in a local currency will be converted and calculated according to the exchange rate of the month given by the European Commission. NOTE! Please check travel budget limits above. Only the maximum travel costs indicated in the budget could be reimbursed. You are therefore strongly advised to book your travel well in advance and look for the cheapest option. IMPORTANT! The travel reimbursement will be done by a bank transfer to the sending organisation after the project and submitting/posting us all travel documents (boarding passes). Every participant should submit the following documents for the reimbursement: o Tickets (there must be price and name of the person stated on it). o Boarding passes (in case of loss – please get a confirmation from the airlines, that the flight was taken) o Invoices – yes, even if you have a ticket, our accounting still needs an INVOICE. o Online Check-in could be made before your leave Yerevan to make it easier to submit boarding passes for return travel. There is NO participation fee for this training course. VISA REQUIREMENTS EU citizens as well as citizens of Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine do not need Armenia. The citizens of Turkey receive the visa on the border, either at the Yerevan on the land border between Armenia and Georgia. The visa cost for 21 days short term visa or 3000 AMD. The visa cost will be covered. visas to enter airport or is 6 EUR TRAVEL INFORMATION _ It is possible to reach Yerevan through 3 airports: Yerevan International Airport (Armenia), Tbilisi International Airport (Georgia) and Kutaisi Airport (Georgia). If you arrive to Yerevan International Airport: The participants landing in Yerevan will be picked up by the organizers. If you arrive at Tbilisi Airport we can arrange a bus for you from the airport to Yerevan depending on the number of participants. In case there are few participants arriving to Tbilisi, you can get to Yerevan with busses or shared taxi. Cost of ticket is 30 GEL-35 (15 EUR). If you arrive to Kutaisi Airport you should take bus to Tbilisi (cost 20 GEL-8EUR) and use the tips above. INSURANCE Please keep in mind that you are self-responsible for sufficient insurance (illness/personal liability/cancellation/theft etc.). APY and AUE take no responsibility for it. Yerevan is a political, administrative, commercial & financial, as well as cultural & educational centre of Armenia. The population is about 1.2 million people. Payments with VISA/Master Card credit cards are possible in most of the supermarkets, cafes, shops and restaurants. For the small local shops it’s always good to have some cash.
