Senior Regent’s Update
January –New Year is the time at which
a new calendar year begins and the calendar's year count is incremented. In
many cultures, the event is celebrated in
some manner.[1] The New Year of
the Gregorian calendar, today in worldwide use, falls on 1 January (New Year's
Day), as was the case with both the
old Roman calendar and the Julian calendar that succeeded it. The order of months was January
to December in the Old Roman calendar during the
reign of King Numa Pompilius in about 700 BC, according to Plutarch and Macrobius, and has been in continuous use since that time. In many countries, such as the
Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the United
States, 1 January is a national holiday.
What’s going on at the Moose?
 We still haven’t sold the old refrigerator. We
dropped the price and Greg and Joe covered the
refrigerator with a tarp, so as to not get rain
damage.
 Although we voted to move the pool table and
fix the shuffle board, we are delay moving the
table until after the crab feeds.
 Michael Ku from West High will be donating his
time for a senior project and will be updating
the horseshoe pits in the back.
 Did you know? Danette and I have a list of students that are willing to volunteer as servers,
dishwashers and clean-up for Moose functions.
If you have a need please contact us and we will
help. Also, if you have family/friends that want
to volunteer (Anne?) please provide us with
their name and phone number.
On Friday, December 12, our fabulous
WOTM volunteers provided a wonderful
potato bar with salad to over twenty diners.
This was the calm before the hustle and
bustle of the Christmas GALA dinner and
dance event the following night. Our chefs
and kitchen crew worked overtime to
achieve another memorable evening. The
dining tables were beautifully decorated with
flowers, plants, crystal, and other valuables; DJ Tim entertained all with his “Guess that TV Show” game and
wonderful selection of dancing music for the more adventurous.
On Sunday, December 21, the Children’s Christmas party
was a hit! The children decorated cookies, made ornaments, had their faces painted, and created a special gift
for mom or dad. Santa even made a special visit to greet
each child and hand out presents!
The month would not be complete without a WOTM
breakfast on Sunday, December 28.
Thank you, everyone, for supporting the Lodge by joining
us for these fabulous meals. We truly appreciate your
support and hope to see more members at future Moose
events. If you would like to volunteer time in the kitchen or
donate supplies for the meals, please don’t be shy; let me
know! I may be reached by texting 209-815-0476 or by
email at [email protected].

Special Note: As we began the New Year, let the things of the past remain in the past. Let’s not forget
the love ones that we lost this past year. Let’s not be sad, but remember the good times we had with
them. I pray that our lodge strengthens in character, compassion, integrity and renew friendships. Let’s
all strive to make a difference in 2015!
Happy New Year!
Thank You,
Fraternally,
Alex Zamora, Governor
WOTM’s Murder Mystery Dinner
Friday, January 16, 2015
Diners are the participants
Murder at The Four Deuces is a rip roaring, 1920's gangster murder mystery party
game with lots of murder, bribery, and back stabbing; loosely based on some of the
very first Chicago and New York Gangsters, their rivalries, speakeasies, and love lives.
Al Capone was just moving up in the "Family".
Don and MeMe Wannabe are hosting the grand opening celebration for their new Speakeasy, The Four Deuces, and you are invited to attend. The Four Deuces is a lavish juice joint serving booze and music in the front.
In the back is the game room, and upstairs is a very high class and exclusive brothel. The cream, and not so
cream, of society will be here. With gangsters, politicians, dolls, molls and many other interesting guests in
attendance this event is sure to be the bee's knees.
Social hour: 5:00 p.m.
Dinner: 6:00 p.m. - ham, scalloped potatoes, salads, rolls, dessert $12.00/person
