FORUM OVERVIEW
R.I.S.E. is the first forum of its kind to bring leading students, faculty and investment professionals together in an interactive
learning environment to discuss a range of pertinent issues facing investment professionals. R.I.S.E. VII will include keynote
presentations by a group of internationally renowned industry leaders, specialized breakout sessions, workshops, career strategies
forum and an optional portfolio competition. R.I.S.E. VI drew more than 1,500 participants representing 197 colleges and
universities from 22 countries. Early registration is encouraged. Together, we can raise the bar on investment education!

DR. BURHANUDDIN ABDULLAH
Governor
Bank Indonesia
Abdullah has been serving as the Governor
of Bank Indonesia since May 2003. As the
central bank’s governor, he is also the Governor
of the International Monetary Fund and the
Alternate Governor of the World Bank. He has also served as the
chairman of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB). During
his career with the Bank, Governor Abdullah has been appointed
to several positions ranging from Deputy Director of Economic
Research and Monetary Policy, Deputy Director and then Director
of International Directorate. In 2001, Abdullah was appointed by
President Abdurrachman Wahid to serve in his cabinet of ministers as
the Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs.
RALPH ALVAREZ
President and COO
McDonald’s Corporation
Alvarez is President and Chief Operating
Officer of McDonald’s Corporation. He
began his career with McDonald’s after a
distinguished career in the fast food service
restaurant industry. Prior to his current position where he is
responsible for 15,000 restaurants in the United States and Canada,
he was President of McDonald’s USA. Prior to this, he was Chief
Operations Officer, McDonald’s USA and before that, President
of the Central Division for McDonald’s USA. Alvarez also served
as President of McDonald’s Mexico and as Regional Director for
Chipotle Mexican Grill.
PAUL S. ATKINS
Commissioner
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
Atkins was appointed by President George W.
Bush to be a commissioner of the Securities
and Exchange Commission in 2002. His
term expires in 2008. Atkins’ 22-year career has
focused on the financial services industry and securities regulation.
Before his appointment as commissioner, he assisted financial
services firms in improving their compliance with SEC regulations
and worked with law enforcement agencies to investigate and rectify
situations where investors had been harmed. He began his career as
a lawyer in New York City, focusing on a wide range of corporate
transactions for U.S. and foreign clients, including public and private
securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
PETER H. COORS
Chairman
Molson Coors Brewing Company
Coors is Chairman of Coors Brewing
Company and Vice Chairman of Molson
Coors Brewing Company. His professional
career in the brewing business follows a Coors
tradition that has spanned more than a century and five generations
of Coors family members. Coors’ outside corporate board of director
memberships include U.S. Bancorp Inc., Energy Corporation of
America and, until recently, H.J. Heinz Co. He is also president
and a trustee of the Adolph Coors Foundation and the Castle Rock
Foundation. He is the son of Joseph and Holly Coors and is a great
grandson of Adolph Coors, who founded the Golden Brewery in 1873.

Doll is Vice Chairman and Global Chief
Investment Officer of Equities for BlackRock.
As one of the world’s largest publicly traded
investment management firms, BlackRock
manages more than $1.0 trillion in assets on behalf of institutions and
individuals worldwide through a variety of equity, fixed income, cash
management and alternative investment products. Headquartered in
New York City, the firm has over 4,500 employees in 18 countries
and a major presence in key global markets. Prior to this, Doll was
the Chief Investment Officer for Oppenheimer Funds Inc.
DR. BOB FROEHLICH
Chairman, Investor Strategy Committee
Deutsche Asset Management
Froehlich has an illustrious professional
career that includes both the public and
private sectors. When he was the Director of
Investment Research he was selected to several
“All-American” Institutional Research Teams. He now chairs the firm’s
Investor Strategy Committee. He is the mutual fund industry’s most
mediagenic strategist, regularly appearing on a variety of financial
television programs. He has delivered investment speeches on six
different continents and in all 50 states. Froehlich is a prolific writer;
his weekly market commentary has gained him acclaim with the
brokerage community as one of the most important strategists of our
day. He has also authored three books on investing, including a #1
best seller. Froehlich currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the
University of Dayton.
DR. JAMES E. GLASSMAN
Senior Policy Strategist
J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
Glassman is a Managing Director and Senior
Policy Strategist with J.P. Morgan Chase. He
works closely with the firm’s global treasury
and capital markets groups, and he is an advisor
for the firm’s key corporate relationships. His views on the principal
forces shaping the financial markets are widely cited in the financial
media, where he is a frequent commentator on economic policy
issues. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Glassman served in numerous capacities
in both the Research and Statistics as well as the Monetary Affairs
Divisions at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C.
DR. JAN HATZIUS
Chief U.S. Economist
Goldman Sachs
Hatzius is the Chief U.S. Economist for
Goldman Sachs. He is responsible for setting
the firm’s U.S. economic and interest rate
forecast and outlook. He is published widely on
monetary and fiscal policy, the housing market, inflation, corporate
profits, consumption and capital spending. Hatzius writes a regular
column on the U.S. economy for the German daily Frankfurter
Allgemeine Zeitung. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he was a research
officer at the London School of Economics. He holds his doctorate in
economics from Oxford University.

Kiplinger is one of America’s most respected
economic journalists and business forecasters.
He is Editor in Chief of The Kiplinger Letter,

in 1947 that has monthly circulation of more than 900,000 today;
and KiplingerForcasts.com, a daily forecasting service that alerts
executives to coming changes in economic conditions, demographics,

Navellier & Associates, Inc.
Navellier is Chairman of the Board, Chief
Executive Officer and Chief Investment
Officer of Navellier & Associates. He is the
Editor of Emerging Growth, Quantum Growth,
Blue Chip Growth and Global Growth stock advisory newsletters.
Since 1987, he has been active in the management of individual
portfolios, mutual funds and institutional portfolios. Navellier has
been very successful in translating what had been purely academic
techniques into real market applications. He believes that disciplined,
quantitative analysis can select stocks that will significantly
outperform the overall market.
DR. GUILLERMO ORTIZ
Governor
Bank of Mexico
Ortiz is the Governor of the Bank of
Mexico, which is Mexico’s Central Bank.
He was ratified for another six year term as
Governor beginning in January of 2004. Ortiz
has also served in two cabinet level positions as the Secretary of
Finance and Public Credit as well as briefly serving as the Secretary
of Telecommunications and Transportation. His past professional
experience includes having served as Undersecretary of Finance
and Public Credit. Before that he was the Executive Director of the
International Monetary Fund. Ortiz has also taught at universities
in Mexico and the United States and has written and published two
books and numerous papers on economics and finance.
DR. MYRON S. SCHOLES
Chairman
Platinum Grove Asset Management and
1997 Nobel Laureate in Economics
Scholes is Chairman of Platinum Grove Asset
Management, an alternative investment fund
specializing in liquidity provision services to
the global wholesale capital markets. Professor Scholes is the Frank
E. Buck Professor of Finance Emeritus, at the Stanford University
Graduate School of Business. He is widely known for his work
in options pricing, capital markets, tax policies and the financial
services industry. He is co-originator of the Black-Scholes options
pricing model, which is the basis of the pricing and risk management
technology that is used to value and to manage the risk of financial
instruments around the world. For this work, he was awarded the
Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1997.
DR. JOHN E. SILVIA
Chief Economist
Wachovia Corporation
Silvia is the Chief Economist for Wachovia
Bank. Prior to that, he was the Chief
Economist of Kemper Funds, which later
became Scudder Kemper Investments. Before his
career in the private sector, he worked on Capitol Hill as the Senior
Economist for the U.S. Senate Joint Economic Committee and Chief
Economist for the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs
Committee. He is a member of the Blue Chip Panel of Economic
Forecasters in addition to serving on the informal advisory group for
the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
LIZ ANN SONDERS
Chair of Investment Strategy Council
Charles Schwab & Co.
Sonders is the Chief Investment Strategist and
chairs the Investment Strategy Council for
Charles Schwab. This Council defines broad
asset allocation guidelines for the firm’s investor
base. She was a panelist on PBS’s Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser
and CNBC’s Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street. During the past three years,
Sonders has been among a small group of economists and strategists
who have advised President Bush and his advisors on topics including
the stimulus package, the economy and the stock market. She
participated in the 2004 White House Conference on the Economy
as a member of President Bush’s panel on deficit reduction. In early
2005, she was appointed to the President’s Advisory Panel on Federal
Tax Reform.

A national group of investment professionals will share their insights
on a variety of topics such as alternative investments, ethics, fixed
income, hedge funds, international markets, portfolio manager
perspectives and risk management.
WORKSHOPS
A variety of Workshops will be offered. Topics will include security
analysis, portfolio construction and risk management. The
Workshops will focus on skill enhancement.
CAREER STRATEGIES FORUM
The Career Strategies Forum will explore techniques for competing
and succeeding in a competitive marketplace. The Career Strategies
Forum will include discussions on various careers within capital
markets and asset management, including a panel discussion on post
MBA perspectives.
OPTIONAL PORTFOLIO COMPETITION
Universities with student-managed portfolios are invited to showcase
their success in the areas of growth, value, blend, alternative and fixed
income styles of management. Twelve-month risk-adjusted returns
will be used to identify the top portfolio team in each investment
category at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Only the
top team in each category will be disclosed, as the emphasis of the
competition is on providing feedback. (Competition registration
