Can you tell us more about your studies?
I started to study Naval Architect and Marine Engineer at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. In my country,
Spain, the engineering studies last 5 years and in my case five years dedicated to boats and then we have to
do a project on the design of a boat. I started to study Naval Architect because I love hydrodynamics, built
structures offshore and also all types of ships. I passed 4 years in Madrid and in the 5th year I decided to go
to Nantes. In Nantes, I studied « Ocean: Hydrodynamics and Marine Engineering ». Also, I did an internship
in Centrale Nantes, in the laboratory LHEEA (Laboratoire de recherche en Hydrodynamique, Énergétique et
Environnement Atmosphérique). I studied the manoeuvrability of ship on basin.
Did you feel well-integrated at Centrale Nantes?
I did feel well-integrated at Central Nantes. From the first time, everyone helped me (teachers, people
management, students, etc.). It was fantastic. In my class I was the only foreigner and living it was great.
Dealing with people was very easy.
Your classes were in French. How did you manage with the language?
I didn’t have problems with French. I am lucky because in Madrid I was in a French school for 12 years, so
understand the class was very easy for me. I love the French language and I went to Nantes to practice
my French.
I liked the atmosphere very much. It was very easy to speak with and discuss with us. I was very impressed
at how well it is organized and how quickly we solve problems.
What are your plans for the future?
I just got my engineering degree and my plans for the future are trying to find work in France, I love the
culture, the language. Apply my knowledge in naval architecture in interesting projects.
Would you recommend Centrale Nantes?
I would recommend studying at Central Nantes to everyone. It is a great engineering school. It has a large
engineering facilities and programs that will give you a good education. Also because the universitybusiness relationship is very good and it is very important.
