Our guest preacher this morning is Tim Brosnan from Christians Against Poverty Australia’s largest debt management charity, which works in partnership with the local
church.
BAPTISM SUNDAY
We have set aside next Sunday 9th of November as Baptism Sunday. If you are interested
in knowing more about being baptised, please speak to one of our Pastors.
CHURCH AGM
Our church Annual General Meeting this year will be held on Sunday 23rd November.
Annual reports from all Ministry leaders will need to be emailed to the church office by
the end of October to enable them to be collated and presented before this meeting. Our
AGM presents an opportunity to appoint new (& used) deacons. This year, Tim van Emmerik and John Lorimer’s two year term of office will expire, however, they are eligible for
re-election. If you would like to nominate someone to represent you as a deacon,
nomination forms are available at the Info Desk.
BAPTIST WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP
Our BWF ladies will be meeting at 10am this Weds 5th for a Christmas Craft morning.

COMMUNITY FUN DAY - 6TH DECEMBER - Only 34 days to go!
We are currently building our activity teams for the CFD. The limiting factor for the CFD is
the number of helpers we can muster – YOU are a vital ingredient to CFD success! Activity
leaders are asking 2013 team members to help on their activity this year. 2013 team
members should contact their leader to confirm they are willing and available. Folk who
were not 2013 helpers but want to be on a 2014 team should place their name on the list
at the Information Desk. There is also a list for those who are unavailable on the 6th Dec
but can help with CFD tasks before or after. I hope this covers every SBC attender.

OUT FOR LUNCH
All are welcome to our next lunch and movie afternoon on Weds 12th Nov, starting at
12pm here at the church. Please add your name to the list at the Info Desk if you plan to
come, to assist us with catering.
GIFT SHOP
Our gift shop, “Made with Love” will be open each fortnight. The emphasis is on handmade gifts. Profits from sales will go towards missions of the church. Opening times will
be from 9:15-10:00am before church and 11:30-12:00pm after church - opening dates are
on the door. (If anyone makes handmade items they wish to sell in the shop please see
Claire Clamp.)

STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
Those heading to Melbourne for university next year may be interested in student house
accommodation provided by Ashburton Baptist Church and Murumbeena Baptist Church.

MINISTRY SCHOOL 2015
Stay tuned for details of our Ministry School for 2015. This course will focus on character
development, leadership development and theology studies.
MISSIONS GARAGE SALE
On Saturday 22nd November our Missions team will be holding a garage sale here in the
church hall. Now is a great time to have a Spring clean and start sorting and saving your
items to donate for the sale. Please do NOT start bringing your items in to the church yet
- save them for the week before the Garage Sale.
LIFE FM CHRISTIAN RADIO
Our local Christian radio station, Life FM, is in desperate need of funds to enable it to
continue production. If funds are not received before the end of December, this radio
station will cease to exist. Please pray for and consider supporting this cause. For more
