As SATS are fast approaching and are on
Monday we are suggesting that your child
has a good night sleep and brings a water
bottle to stay hydrated throughout the
days. On Monday we have our first test
which is English reading and it will last
one hour. We are wishing year 6 all the
best for the week.

Dear parents/carers
As you may know, we had a very exciting
Oliver audition on Wednesday and all the
children were excellent in their own
ways. Also, they have made it a terribly
difficult decision for the director! The
parts are getting selected today (5th May)
and a massive well done to all the children who auditioned we are very proud
of you.
Fun at Camp Kernow!
What a brilliant week in school! We
have had our Year 4 children at Camp
Kernow, where they had a fantastic
time. Year 5 have been working on
their animations and our Year 6 children had their last 1:1 sessions! Today our talented Tag Rugby team are
representing us at the Penryn Partnership festival - they have trained
hard and improved considerably.
Our Year 4 children had a great time
at Camp Kernow, where they climbed
trees, had a go at archery, made their
own burgers and even had a campfire. It was lovely to see the children
so happy, working collaboratively and
for many, conquer their fears! A huge
thanks to all of our parents for their
support and to our wonderful staff for
organising such a great camp. Year 6
camp is just a few weeks away, please
can we remind parents to pay the
full amount for their child to attend
camp. If we do not have enough income, there's a chance that we will
have to cancel camp.
Finally, it's our Year 6 SATs next week,
where children will sit a reading paper, two SPAG papers (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) and three
maths papers. Our Year 6 children
and staff have worked so hard this
year. We are very proud of their
efforts and hope that they get the
results that they deserve. All we ask if
for our children to do the best that
they can do and remember that, "Yes
you can!"
Have a great weekend,
Best wishes,
Mr. Hadley, Mrs. Eddy and Mr. Hitchens

FIDGET SPINNERS
Touch Rugby
The touch rugby team played their second
round of league games this week and won
two games and lost one. They ended up in
second place.
BMX
A group of fifteen year 5 children went to the
Cornwall BMX centre on Thursday. They had a
great time overcoming some tricky parts of
the course. Pictures are on the @PenrynPE
twitter account and on the website.
The latest craze reaching schools is Fidget Spinners.
These have been designed to help some children
with specific special educational needs concentrate
in class. Although they can have a positive impact on
these children, their presence in classrooms has been
seen to disrupt learning across the country in recent
weeks. We have seen this impact here in Penryn and
we have taken the decision to ban them from the
School.
We would like to thank you in advance for your
support with this.
Mr Hadley, Mrs Eddy and Mr Hitchens.
Sainsbury's Active Vouchers
Sainsbury's have now stopped giving out their
Active Kids Vouchers, so now is the time to
make sure you bring them in next week so
that we can get some lovely new sports
equipment!
Many thanks to Kay and
Jackie for visiting us today.
It was lovely to see them
both. The children’s faces
were a picture of delight.
We wish Kay all the best for
a complete recovery.
