Information to cruise ship crewmembers
The “å” pronounced like the “o” in floor.
Free Wi-Fi for crew: Please enter the rightmost door of the grey building at the beginning of the
pier. You will find the access key inside the Wi-Fi panorama room. The Port of Flåm provides this
complimentary service. The Wi-Fi had an update winter 2017, and should require all needs.
BBQ area right across from the pier, well suited for crew parties.
Please contact your port agent to
book the location. The ship will bring all supplies.
Soccer field: is located a few minutes’ walk from the pier. You cross the bridge nearest the cruise
terminal and turn left. Use of the soccer field is free of charge. Please bring your own football. The
field is not under the best conditions, so to play is at your own risk. We are working on improving it.
Beach volley: beach volley field is located on the beach/recreation area a few minutes’ walk from
the cruise pier. Use of the beach volley field is free of charge. Please bring your own volley ball.
Shopping
Flåm Railway museum and Souvenir Shop: Free Entrance. At the Museum, please show
your crew ID to receive your discount when shopping. Not all items may reward a discount.
The Railway museum and Souvenir Shop is located in the yellow building next to Track 4 at the
Railway Station. They accept most currencies and all credit cards. They are part of the most common
tax refund programs.
Saga Souvenir:
Located adjacent to the railway station. Please show your crew ID in order to
receive your 10% discount.

Aurland Shoe maker and Outlet in Aurland:
This is where the original Penny Loafer, also
called “Weejuns” or the “College Shoes” first made in the 1930ties.
The shoemaker and outlet is located in the center of Aurland (8 km from Flåm). Take the local bus or
book a ticket thru Sognefjorden Fjord Cruise (crew discounts available).
Flåm Aurland Shoe Outlet in Flåm: We are happy to extend the in-house employee rate to all
crewmembers. Please show your crew ID and do not forget your tax refund form.
Local supermarket and drug store: Coop, yellow building located behind the Toget Cafe.
Post office: Located inside the Coop convenience store, across from the Toget Cafe.
Where to eat
Bakkastova coffee shop and cultural café (red house) located at the entrance of Fretheim Hiking
Trail by Fretheim Hotel. Bakkastova serves local pancakes, pastries and coffee. Open from 10.00 –
17.00. Crew specials on beers, cappuccinos and other coffee drinks.
Toget Café offers: Pizza, soups, small dishes, cakes and Ice-cream/gelato.
Toget Cafe is a casual eatery located right in the heart of the village center. You may eat inside the
old wooden train wagon.
Furukroa Café located right on the dock. Opening hours in June / July / August 08.00 - 19.00.
Welcome to lunch, dinner, snacks, coffees and ice cream.
“Arven” restaurant, Fretheim Hotel:
Translated to “The Heritage” was renamed in 2006 when
the Nærøyfjord was added to the world heritage UNESCO list. The restaurant is located on the
second floor inside the Fretheim historical hotel. At “Arven” you will be able to sample delicious
local food complimented by a great view.
Dress code: casual.
Lobby Bar and coffee shop, located in the Fretheim Historical Hotel lobby. They serve cakes,
sandwiches, hot and cold drinks.
Activities and tours:
Flåm Cultural Park and 1,600m circular hiking trail. You may bring your lunch, find a
bench and enjoy your meal outdoors. Great view of the fjord.
Fjord Safari and Tours:
Located on the pier right outside the Railway Museum. 25% discount to

World Heritage Cruise:
25% discount to cruise ship crewmembers. To receive your discount
please buy your ticket at the Flåm Visitor center located inside the railway station. Please show your
crew ID at the ticket counter when ordering your ticket.
Rallar Toget (Train on wheels): Located on the pier right outside the Railway Museum next to
Fjord Safari. A roundtrip sightseeing tour of Flåm. Special price for crewmembers only: NOK 80, USD
15, GBP 10. Please bring exact change. Regular price: (NOK 100)
Bike Rental: Rallarvegen bike rental (yellow building/shed) is located next to the Flåmsbana
Museum. 50% discount for Crewmembers: 2 hours for NOK 50,- (regular price 100,-) All day rental
for NOK 125,- (Regular price 250,-)
Always use bike helmets when riding bikes, it can save your life!
Canoe tours: Please cross the little bridge and you will see canoes and Kayaks lined up on the
sandy beach. Please let the staff know you are a crewmember when booking your tour. An
instruction course is mandatory for those wanting to rent a canoe/kayak. www.njord.as
Bus schedule: is available at the tourist information desk located inside the railway station, and
bus stop is located by the train station.
Other outdoor activities available: Hiking, small beach, Sand volleyball and a half size Soccer field.
