(and thanks to the P & F) EASTER HAT PARADES AND EASTER EGG HUNTS The students of Le Page are looking forward to North Cheltenham Pre School and Friendship Square Day Care Centre joining them for the Easter Hat Parade and Easter Egg Hunt. Friendship Square will be coming at 10.00am and North Cheltenham Pre School at 12.30pm. Parents are very welcome to join us at either or both of these sessions. This event is FREE to all. There will be lots and lots of fun. We may even have a very special guest visiting us as well!!!! On Monday and Tuesday of this week, the senior students (3-6) have been assisting at Friendship Square and North Cheltenham Pre-School with the making of Easter Hats/Headbands. We have been making our own today in time for the Parades tomorrow. At Friendship square we assisted with Bunny ears on head bands (sorry about the exposure problems), but soon after completing these and putting them out to dry, Billy and Noah had a great time supervising the pre-schoolers on their play equipment. At North Cheltenham Pre-School, the task was decorating Easter headbands. Stephanie worked with Jen Jen and obviously Ethan thought Noah was very helpful as he was given the “thumbs up”! On Saint Patrick’s Day we dressed up in green. We ate green cupcakes, green jelly and drank green cordial. We heard there are leprechauns guarding their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. A leprechaun is only 60cm tall and looks like an old man. He is a shoemaker. If you catch a leprechaun they will grant you 3 wishes. Leprechauns are a type of fairy in Irish folklore. St Patrick’s Day is a celebration for the people of Ireland. By Miranda and Shekinah. Cheltenham Secondary College Visit by Sofia Last week the 5-6s went to Cheltenham Secondary College to have a tour around. We saw some Le Page students such as Jordan and Leyla and Elaine. We looked in every room and found out what we did there. It was very fun there. We saw the gymnasium and of course we saw the year 7 class room. Then we saw the canteen. After that we saw the auditorium and watched a little clip of Cheltenham Sec. My personal favourite room was the art room. The art work there was amazing!!! We also saw the music room. They have productions every 2nd year. It was really fun being at Cheltenham, it really makes it a lot less daunting going to high school next year!!! Cheltenham Secondary Visit by Helena On the 17th of March we went to Cheltenham Secondary College. We saw Jordan, Leyla and Elaine (from last year). We went there in a small bus and we sat down in the big room. We saw a video and went outside to play 6 square while we were waiting for Cheltenham PS. When they came we talked about the areas and then we had a tour of the school! They had a separate area for years 7s where other grades can’t come (for a bit of privacy). We saw the canteen, art room and many other rooms. My favourite room was the art room. The sculptures were amazing!! After that we went into separate rooms. We went into one of the year 7 classrooms and talked about camps, open nights and everything like that. When it was time to go back we went on the bus and Antosia was super excited to get to year 7 (So was I) Cheltenham Secondary College Today the 6-5s went to Cheltenham Secondary College to have a tour and look at all the buildings and experiences that we will have at high school. First we all went to the auditorium and saw Leyla, Jordan and other people from Cheltenham Secondary Collage. Then we played two square until Cheltenham Primary School came. After that we took a tour and saw the science rooms but we couldn’t go inside because there were students working. Then we went to the gymnasium, where there were people playing basketball. After that we went to the cooking room and the wood work, metal work and engineering. On the way I saw my sister Marta with her friend Sabrina, and for some weird reason she calls her, her cousin! The people who showed us around were Mr. Kennedy and Miss Kennedy. My favourite room was definitely the art room because I love art and the art that the teens made were AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After the tour Cheltenham Primary School and Le Page split up and we went inside one of the Year 7 rooms and talked about what it was like to be at high school. Leyla and Jordan both prepared a speech about how they were at high school. After all of that I couldn’t wait to go to high school but I have to wait two years… By Antosia Cheltenham Secondary College The 6s and 5s went to Cheltenham Secondary College. When we got out of the bus there were 2 teachers. The Year 7s came to us, I knew Jordan and Leyla and saw other people from Le Page Primary School. Antosia and I saw Marta who is Antosia’s sister. First we went to where year 7 only go. It’s their building. NO other kids can go there that are older than them. Then we played 2 square with the Year 7s. Secondly we went into a big building with seats. We sat down and waited. Suddenly the Cheltenham Primary School came. We then split into groups and we got one teacher to follow. We went to the music room. On the wall were pictures of people playing instruments. In every single year different people were in the picture. Then we went to the art room. It was so cool. Then the library and the kitchen. The room was big, P.E room, cafeteria, the classrooms and the ICT lab. You also have your own lockers where you put all your stuff. The 2 teachers said more information about high school. Then we went back to the bus and back to school. By Jenny GOING TO CHELTENHAM SECONDARY COLLEGE On the 17th of March we visited Cheltenham Secondary College! The people who went there where Antosia, Jenny, Sofia, Helena and me. We weren’t the only school there. The other school was Cheltenham primary school!!! We saw the gymnasium, music room, art room, the kitchen, the cafeteria, the P.E. room, wood work place, technology room and the auditorium!! Mr Kennedy and Miss Kennedy were the people who were showing us the high school. They had a private area for year 7s only. That meant none of the other grades can go there. We saw some familiar faces like Jordan, Leyla, Ben M, Elaine, Drew, Marta (Antosia’s sister) and Rama! We watched a video and it was about the school and it was great! Can’t wait for high school!!!!!!!!! WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT CHELTEMHAM SECONDARY COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!
