Prior Knowledge
SWBAT express how they address different people in English.
Unit 2 Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire?
Unit Goal
SWBAT use regular "er" verbs in oral and written form through expressing knowledge of different types of
French music that they prefer.
Unit Assessment
SWBAT use regular "er" verbs in oral and written by writing a letter where they express their knowledge of
different types of French music that they prefer and presenting a sample of that music to the class.
Prior Knowledge
SWBAT use greetings, the numbers 1-20 and the alphabet in French.
Unit 3 Au café
Unit Goal
SWBAT use successfully the verb "aller" as well as tell time and express the new food vocabulary and
numbers in oral and written form while talking about French food
Unit Assessment
SWBAT perform a French café skit where they will be asked to use the new food vocabulary as well as
tell time and the verb “aller” in oral and written form.
Prior Knowledge
SWBAT conjugate regular er verbs and express what they like and don't like.
Unit 4 A l’ecole
Unit Goal
SWBAT express the new verb "avoir" and regular "ir" verbs while talking about French school life in oral
and written form.
Unit Assessment
SWBAT create a French story book about French school life which will be presented to the class.

SWBAT use the verb "aller" orally and in written form with café vocabulary.
Unit 5 En famille
Unit Goal
SWBAT compare and contrast their family to typical French families through the use of the verb “avoir”,
possessive adjectives, and descriptive adjectives in oral and written form.
Unit Assessment
SWBAT compare and contrast their family to typical French families through the use of the verb “avoir”,
possessive adjectives and descriptive adjectives in oral and written form on a Midterm exam.
Unit 6 Tu viens d’ou?
Unit Goal
SWBAT express a person's nationality or profession by asking different types of questions such as where
people are from or what they do in oral and written form while learning about the many different
francophone countries.
Unit Assessment
SWBAT interview each other in French to find out about the different nationalities and professions in the
other student’s family in order to write a summary in a paragraph.
Prior Knowledge
SWBAT conjugate "er" and "ir" verbs as well as the verb "aller".
Unit 7 On fait les magasins
Unit Goal
SWBAT use the near future and regular "re" verbs and irregular adjectives while describing clothing and
going shopping in a typical French boutique in oral and written form.
Unit Assessment
SWBAT express the near future and regular “re” verbs and irregular adjectives during the presentation of
a French fashion show which the students will create on a poster about a particular French fashion
designer’s spring line.

SWBAT conjugate "er" and "ir" verbs.
Unit 8 On fait les courses

SWBAT express what they would like to buy in different French food shops in oral and written form using
the verb "vouloir" and "pouvoir", along with partitives.

SWBAT buy and sell products from different food shops in a classroom shop project according to a
prepared list of what they need for a party.
