2. Shuffle the playing cards and stack them facedown. Each player draws nine
cards from the deck and places them faceup on his or her game card—one
card in each space. After players decide who goes first, play proceeds
clockwise.
3. The first player spins and reads aloud the word root indicated on the
spinner ( ject, man, or cred ). The player looks at his or her cards to find one
word with the same pattern. As the player finds a word, he or she says the
word aloud and turns the card facedown on his or her game card. Then the
next player spins.
4. Play continues until a player turns three cards facedown in a row in any
direction and shouts, “Lucky Draw!” That player wins the game.
5. As a variation, a player must turn all cards facedown on his or her game
card to win.
