Hot Tips for Summer Officer Spotlight: Roswell, GA Officer Deborah Nelson


Drink plenty of water. Carry
water with you and drink continuously even if you don't feel
thirsty. Injury and death can
occur from dehydration, which
can happen quickly and unnoticed. Symptoms of dehydration are often confused with
other causes. Your body needs
water to keep cool. Water is
the safest liquid to drink during
heat
emergencies.
Use sunscreen
with an
SPF (sun
protection factor) of 15 or
more—even on cloudy days.

Seek medical care right away if
you become nauseous, start
vomiting or experience cramps.

Eat small meals and eat more
often. Avoid foods that are high
in protein, which increase metabolic heat.

Stay informed about the heat
wave by listening to NOAA
Weather Radio, or commercial
radio and television for the latest heat warnings and advisories.
Covenant Site Manager Henry Thrash received high praise from a client in Roswell, GA in regards to Security Officer Deborah Nelson:
“I just wanted to let you know what a great job Deborah Nelson is doing at the console in Building 400. Aside from having a great personality and a friendly greeting
each morning, Deborah provides support and service that goes above and beyond
the requirements of her job. When employees come in with a lot of luggage, such
as boxes of samples, Deborah will go to the door to help them in.
“When I have last minute changes with vendors or have verbal instructions for her
to follow, Deborah always remembers them and executes them flawlessly. Deborah never fails to follow up and keep me posted on our vendor activities. When we
have problems that crop up, she knows how to summon the appropriate help. In
all, she has been one of our most exemplary security guards in my 23 years of service.”
Great job, Deborah, and thank you for your model performance!

PBF Energy’s Delaware City Refinery experienced perimeter damage on June
22 after a major thunderstorm passed through, causing trees and utility poles to
collapse. “It pleases me to report that the Covenant security team took immediate action from the time the storm started until it ended,” Covenant Site Security
Manager Victor Williams said. “Security was on scene reporting the damage to
refinery management, and to Facility Security Officer William Robinson. Our security team took all necessary action to cover gate posts that were affected by
the power outage, forcing us to go to manual mode to operate them, which carried over through the entire weekend. A job well done by the entire team to
maintain professional standards under adverse conditions.” Great job to all the
officers involved including Earl Williams, Aaron Baldwin, Justin Vascellaro,
Frank Maffia, Mike Simmons, Tom Robinson, Mike Sweeney, Alan Michael,
Len Sturgis, Elijah Meadows, Dave DiIanni, and Al Lenox, and all the gate
officers who stood post as well.
Neenah, WI Security Officer Teri Retelle Recognized
Covenant Security Officer Teri Retelle was recognized by our client in Neenah,
WI for her assistance. The letter, presented to Covenant Site Security Manager
Tanya Eccles, is as follows: “I wanted to take a minute to say “Thank you” to
Teri for all the assistance she provided to our team last week during our Process Mapping meeting. This was the first time we had
the experience to hold a meeting at the IDS building
and it went flawlessly. Teri was available when needed for technical assistance as well as logistical questions. This is what “Think Customer” looks like to
me! We look forward to the next time we have an opportunity to work with Teri and visit the IDS building.
