Born: December 26, 1792.

Died: 18 Ocrtober 1871

He was a mathematician, philosopher, and inventor.

Education: Graduated from the University of Cambridge.

Wrote On the Economy of Machinery and Manufactures in 1832.

He founded the Astronomical Society.
Contributions

In 1822, he invented the Difference Engine which computed a series of
polynomial functions at the same time.

He originated the concept of programmable computer.

He invented the first mechanical computer.

The invention of the Analytical Engine bridged the gap between
computing for just arithmetic and general purpose computations.

Infamously known as Father of Computer Science.
