The amazing Amazon - Northlands Primary School

The amazing Amazon
Year 4 Spring Term
As Geographers we will be discovering where the Amazon rainforest is located, along with other rainforests around the
world, around the equator and its tropics. Moreover, we will trace the origins of the great Amazon River and follow its
journey through the rainforest, and 9 countries until it reaches the ocean. Also we will be discussing the impact of
deforestation and humans on the Amazon Rainforest.
As Scientists, we will study living things and their habitats, this will include how to categories living things into groups
and food chains. Finally we will consider the impact of a broken food chain on the animals and surrounding habitat.
