MLA Citation Format (for the Works Cited page) Print Sources Maui Community College Library The examples below use the MLA citation style set forth in the 5th edition of Diana Hacker’s A Writer’s Reference (available at the library’s Reference Desk). If your particular type of source is not listed below, consult pages 349-367 of A Writer’s Reference or the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, pages 142-235 (also available at the library Reference Desk). MLA style is very specific. Follow the spacing, italics, commas, indentation, and punctuation marks exactly as they are shown in these examples and in the abovementioned books. When creating a list of Works Cited, all entries must be double spaced and listed alphabetically.
