- this can be done on the board or on a length of
paper.
Demonstrate irrational numbers to the students.
Have the students suggest other irrational numbers.
Collect sets of items - e.g., a set of silverware, a
cup and saucer set, etc. Have the students suggest other sets.
Relate sets to math; show examples of math sets.

Introduce the elements in the sets that you develop.

Locate examples of cubes - e.g., a sugar cube, a
box cube, etc.

Introduce cubing to the students. Show the students the methods for writing the cubing results.

Review
Review the key math terms, introduced in this unit. If the vocabulary illustrations were not presented during the introduction, show them to the students at this time.

the illustrations. Say the key words and the students show the illustrations.

Introduce the math sight words to the students - match the sight words with the vocabulary illustrations. The sight words
