Desktop Publishing Specialist
Position Summary:
This position reports to the
he Desktop Publishing Manager. You will be a part of a team of full-time
full
and freelance graphic
designers/typesetters. Through a mix of project management and hands-on
hands on desktop publishing, you will define, develop,
and manage the client project lifecycle. In addition, you will assist your team with analyzing, and troubleshooting foreign
language data to be used in publishing products.
Position responsibilities:
•
Manage production of desktop publishing (DTP) projects using InDesign, Quark, and other desktop pu
publishing
applications
•
Perform daily hands-on
on DTP of multiple projects in coordination with Project Managers
•
Coordinate and communicate with other DTP Specialists, freelancers, DTP agencies, Project Managers, and other
production team members, in various offices
offices and time zones, to ensure project deadlines are met
•
Troubleshoot technical issues
Essential skills and experience required:
Bachelor’s Degree
•
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in
i a fast-paced environment
•
Advanced skills with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Microsoft Office and other desktop publishing
applications
•
Competency with Flash/ActionScript would be a plus
•
Proficient in Mac and PC application
•
Superior written and spoken English communication skills
•
Must be willing to learn new skills, be open to challenges and thrive on success
•
