What is a super volcano? What would the effects
of an eruption be? Research and produce a 3
minute radio broadcast. Include examples and
global impacts.
Tectonic plates move slowly. What s the
evidence for Pangea and how do plates move?
Plates move in 3 main ways. Produce a fact file
about the types of movements. Include maps and
images of landforms formed at the boundaries.
Produce a series of volcano top trumps. You
might want to include height, size of eruption,
and size of crator, damage caused etc for the
volcanoes you include in top trump style values.
Check out Volcano world. Is an eruption
occurring today? File a report on the most
recent eruption; include location, causes and
effects.
Fold Mountains are created by the movement of
pates. Create a tourist brochure for an area of
fold mountains. Include how the fold mountain
was created and things we can do if we visit.
How can we predict volcanoes and earthquakes?
Explain clearly and include a list of warning signs
to look out for.
What is the Pacific Ring of fire? Produce a
teaching resource to show y7 students.
What causes earthquakes? Why is damage
generally grater in LEDCS than MEDC’s? create a
news article to present your findings.
Why do volcanoes and earthquakes occur in the
same paces? Create a cartoon strip to show your
findings.
What are the differences between shield and
composite volcanoes? Can you give examples
of each? Add findings to a table.
What are the benefits of living near a Volcano?
Show the advantages clearly to convince people
to move!
