Weekly Class Newsletter [Date] NEWS FROM THE CLASSROOM Mrs Gardiner – EYFS NEWS FROM MR WARSAP HEAD OF SCHOOL With the first ever term of the Godmanchester Bridge Academy coming to a close, I would like to wish all our children and their families a very happy and wellearned Christmas break. I have been so pleased with the way the children have settled to school life despite the temporary school building and the challenges of being a brand new school - I am so proud of them! With such resilient children the future is certainly bright for the Academy. As I drive into work each day I keep a close eye on the building site at Romans’ Edge. So I was particularly excited to see the steel frame for the Nursery building has now risen out of the ground! This will soon be followed by the frame for the Reception and Year 1 classes in January. Mrs Gardiner and I will be arranging the first of several trips for the children to the site in the New Year; we will be sending more details of to you once they have been confirmed. Hopefully parents and governors will be able to join us on some of these visits. Photos from school events and classroom activities can be found on our website. Follow this link! CBeebies Rhyme Rocket Assembly On Thursday 15th December the CBeebies programme Rhyme Rocket came in to give a special assembly for KS1 and Foundation Stage. The children were good at identifying rhyme and laughed a lot at all of the jokes that First Officer Ditty and Professor Poet told. The visit was a fantastic way to promote rhyme. All of the children became rhyme recruits and had a fun afternoon with lots of space dancing. The school would like to say a big thank you to the PTA for funding the event. Foundation stage Christmas Play The Foundation Stage classes of The Bridge Academy and Godmanchester Academy worked very hard for their play Busy, Busy Bethlehem. The children have been singing the songs around the classrooms for weeks while we have been preparing the show. We’re pretty sure it tired them out for the weekend, following both of the play performances but they did a fantastic job and the teachers are very proud of them as I’m sure their parents are too! The children loved getting dressed up and were very excited to finally perfrom the nativity to their grown ups. Thank you to all of the parents and carers that came along to watch and for your kind donations towards the Holly Ward. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
