Essay Reference Sheet
A five paragraph essay has three main parts, the introduction, body, and conclusion.

Everything in the essay must be
connected to the thesis statement,
which is the last sentence in the
introduction.
The thesis statement is the main idea of your essay. It’s one sentence where
you let the reader know exactly what you’re writing about in each of your
body paragraphs.

Suppose you are asked to write about an important person in your life. That
important person is your essay subject. Then you will write about three
different ways that person is important to you. Your claim is that that person
is important.
best friend +( friendly + trustworthy + hard worker) + important person + is
My best friend is important because he is friendly, trustworthy, and a hard worker.
The three reasons will become the topics of each body paragraph.
You’ll write a T3C paragraph for each of those topics. One body
paragraph will be about your friend being friendly. The second body
paragraph will be about your friend being trustworthy. The third
body paragraph will be about your friend being a hard worker.
