The Rhyming Reader Book Three [email protected] Copyright © 2011 The Rzeppa Family 1 INSTRUCTIONS 0 1 2 3 Print some pages. Do just a couple at a time to start. Later, you can do a half-dozen or more in one sitting. Have your kid sound out all the words on the pages. You can help with the letter sounds, but don't say the words. Make the kid sound them out. Send the kid off to a nice quiet place with a big fat pen to trace all the words. If you must watch, watch from a distance. The kid will digest the stuff better alone. Have your kid sound out all the words with you again. Review the pages the next day and repeat them as necessary. Don't rush. The tortoise always wins in this race. 2 HINT It's time to train your little one's brain to process longer word endings at a glance. The first half of this book does that with a single consonant at the beginning of each word. The second half of this book does the same thing, but with longer beginnings as well. Continue to encourage your kid to see words in two parts, beginning and ending, and to think of each part as a single sound. 3 BACK JACK PACK Jack had a pack on his back. hiz 4 ACT FACT PACT TACT Act with tact. 5 CAMP DAMP LAMP RAMP a damp lamp in the camp 6 AND BAND HAND LAND SAND a band in the sand 7 BANG HANG SANG GANG RANG The gang sang and rang. 8 BANK HANK SANK TANK YANK Hank sank the tank. 9 $%&*@!! @#$%!! $@%$&!!
