Andrew May, one of the scholarship recipients, says, “When I received the call and was told that I was to receive the DOCO scholarship, it was like a breath of fresh air. In case you MISSED IT Our City On March 28 through April 30, DOCO presented a five week program on “Our City” to a third grade class at Liberty Elementary School in Toccoa, Ga. Corey Smith Concert DOCO Credit Union has teamed up with the Darton State College Foundation to sponsor an incredible summer of music for South Georgia. All proceeds from the concert will go towards student scholarships. DOCO is proud to offer our community a fun night with the added benefit of helping students achieve their dreams of higher education. Financial Basics On April 15, DOCO presented “Financial Basics” to Middle and High school students at 6th Street School in Tifton, Ga. On April 17, DOCO presented “Financial Basics” and our “Credit Union Tour” to Girls, Inc.’s Middle and High School After School Students Program. DOCO Dancing for a Cause Paige Harrell, DOCO’s teller supervisor, with your help raised $11,201 to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association’s Georgia Chapter at the 2014 Dancing with the Stars competition. Thank you to everyone who came out to see her dance and supported her through donations. Her goal was $10,000, and she exceeded it! The competition as a whole raised $131,220. What a fun way to support such a great cause! Credit Union Tour On April 30, DOCO presented our “Credit Union Tour” to Live Oak Elementary School third graders as part of their career day. Albany Car & Boat Sale On May 15 through 17, DOCO hosted the Albany Car & Boat Sale at the Albany Mall. Sylvester Car Sale On May 29 through 31, DOCO hosted the Sylvester Car Sale .
