The Community Access Defibrillator project has changed slightly
according to feedback from the community. Still working with
Community Heartbeat Trust, the Tarbrax Defib will be mounted,
in a secure vandal proof box, on the outside of the village hall.
The Woolfords Defib is still planned for the phonebox and the
Auchengray Defib location is under discussion. For more
information on Community Defibs please see:

Broadband Update
Martin and Jemma met with Duncan Nisbet (Digital Scotland), Kenny Lean (Regeneration Services South Lanarkshire Council), MSP Claudia Beamish and Cllr Catherine McClymont in February to
discuss the DSSB (Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband) project in the WAT IF? area.
The outcome of this meeting was that Duncan Nisbet of Digital Scotland has confirmed that by July
2016 he can confirm what work, if any, will be undertaken in the WAT IF? area. This then allows the
Trust to decide what measures can be taken to improve broadband, knowing exactly what BT has
planned, and so alleviating the risk of undertaking work that would have been done eventually
anyway.
In the meantime, WAT IF? can continue to investigate the options that could be put in place once
we know what BT’s plans are.
Tarbrax Village Hall Committee
With funding and support from WAT IF?, the
Tarbrax Village Hall Committee have organised
some FREE community events!
To book onto any events contact Mandy Walker
on 785577 or [email protected].
The committee wants to hear your ideas for
events:
“We want to see the hall getting used more
regularly for a whole range of activities.
Please get in touch if you live in our area and
would be interested in any of our events. If
you have a talent or knowledge that you
would like to share, i would love to hear from
you. Thank you, Mandy!”
The next meeting of the Pathways Group is on Thursday 14th April, 3pm, at Tarbrax
Village Hall. We will be looking at potential pathway routes around the area, and how
we can promote them to residents and visitors. We will also be discussing a walking
group + what the first organised walks will be!
Anyone who is interested in walking, paths and generally being outdoors is more than
welcome to come along—tea and biscuits provided!
WAT IF? is funded through a Community Benefit agreement with Muirhall WF Extension Ltd.
