Welcome to 2015!
Events Committee Meeting Dates
for 2015
I hope you all had a great transition from last year to this
one, and are ready for a kicking 2015! The Service Users
at Community Lifestyles Agency are already gearing up for a
busy one, and we are welcoming some new faces this year
as well! Looking forward to getting to know you all!
In December 2014 the Agency held an all-inclusive sports
carnival for International Day of People With a Disability,
which was a tremendous success. Congratulations to all
our athletes!
On the 19thJanuary our Day Service will reopen, Service
users have been busy updating their activity plan to include
swimming, training for the Triathalon, horse riding, using
power tools, baking for the Salvation Army, Gym Class and
sailing. We will look forward to following their adventures!
The Events Committee have started planning some of the
events for the New Year, and we can look forward to a trip
to see the Turtles hatch at Mon Repos, Valentines Day Disco, Australiana Sausage Sizzle and a SUPER Relay For Life
team! (and that’s just in the first few months)! The Committee also recently held their second Christmas Disco, the
feedback was positive, hoping to make it an annual event!

To John, Darlene, Teneka, Melissa, Jane, Daniel and Dwan,
Happy Birthday from all at CLA!
Recently the Day Service attended the Art Fair Launch @ Gatakers Art Space and wrote the
following reviews on a piece of artwork of their choice;
Trish chose: "On the Lagoon" a painting of ducks swimming on a lagoon. "i liked the painting
because of the paint, the colours that were used and the ducks. the artist used lots of colours, including blues, pinks, greens and purples in the background. it made me feel happy
and calm. it was painted with acrylic paint on canvas.
Josh and Jordan chose: "Oldie day light" a painting of an old fashioned lantern, ash tray
and pipe in a vintage setting. "We liked the image because unlike all of the other art works,
this one was subdued and old fashioned.” The image was a photograph edited in sepia.
The colours used were black, brown, yellow, white and some blue.
Sez chose: Paper parasols, they did not have a name attatched. She liked the parasols as
they were very different from all of the other art works - they were very bright and used a
range of colours, such as blue, green, yellow, orange and pink. The parasols were painted
with acrylic paint on thick paper like material.
