Future proofing – What’s it all about?
GDC (Ireland) Ltd, have enlisted the expertise of a Home Automation specialist to ensure that each home in Droim
Ard Avenue is complete with a ‘future proofed’ and flexible electrical specification using CAT 5 cables and a very
extensive cabling network. Basically this is how it works:Each home is complete with Home Automation to
the lounge, kitchen/dining room, sunroom and
master bedroom, thus enabling the mood lighting
and scene setting functions of your choice.
Structured cabling permits any other area of the
house to be linked to the Home Automation system
without any disturbance. The automation system is
also interfaced with the heating system and the
security alarm. The system permits you to contact it
via your mobile phone, laptop or landline from
anywhere in the world to activate your heating, set
your alarm or switch on or off your lights.
The cabling network also paves the way for the
installation and control of the full audio visual
equipment of your choice. Ceiling speakers are
fitted in the lounge hallway, kitchen/dining area, sun
room, master bedroom, ensuite and bathroom (all
other rooms have been cabled for ceiling speakers
so these may be fitted later with no disruption).
There is also separate speaker wiring in the lounge
to enable the connection of your audio visual
equipment to a surround sound system in this
room. Each home comes complete with a security
camera at the front door; an extensive and
impressive lighting installation (approx 50
downlighters); an abundance of digital and terrestrial
