Living the Promise Branding & Graphics Guide Developing a brand for Alpha Gamma Rho means accentuating what makes our Fraternity the only one of its kind. It does not change our purpose and what’s vital to the Fraternity. Instead, it creates a common language with which each of us can identify. Over time, consistency throughout everything we do across the entire organization can create a powerful and profound impact both internally and externally. It’s an important commitment and each of us can choose to make it a cornerstone in our professional, social and personal lives. Live the Promise. The Marks Alpha Gamma Rho uses two marks -- one for horizontal purposes and one for vertical uses. Neither form may be altered under any circumstance. Horizontal Mark Vertical Mark The Colors PANTONE 104 C PANTONE 349 C The Marks with Tagline Alpha Gamma Rho’s tagline should be used whenever possible with the mark. The tagline must never be converted to another typeface. Horizontal Mark with Tagline Vertical Mark with Tagline Horizontal Mark Versions The 4-color original version is always preferred. The mark may be used on any background that is light or dark enough to provide appropriate contrast. The version that includes a white background should be used whenever there is insufficient contrast between the mark and its background. The grayscale version must only be used when black is the only available color. Grayscale versions are available for all horizontal marks. The Greek letters may be used for Greek Life and Chapter materials. The Educational Foundation version is to only be used in materials regarding the Foundation. The original mark may not be used in Foundation materials and the Foundation mark may never be used for General Fraternity materials. Each chapter may use the appropriate mark featuring it’s chapter name and school name. Chapters are never to change the formatting. The Home Office has a version for each chapter’s use. The Home Office address may be used in place of the tagline in materials such as letterhead, envelopes, etc. Vertical Mark Versions The vertical version is only to be used in vertical materials when the horizontal mark will not fit accordingly. The 4-color option is always prefered. The Educational Foundation version is to only be used in materials regarding the Foundation when the horizontal version will not fit accordingly. The gray-scale version must only be used when black is the only available color. Grayscale versions are available for all vertical marks. Each chapter may use the appropriate vertical mark featuring it’s chapter name and school name. Chapters are never to change the formatting. The Home Office has a vertical version for each chapter’s use. The Greek letters may be used for Greek Life and Chapter materials. Spacing of the Mark Adequate space should be maintained on all sides of the mark as much as possible. The clear area will ensure visual impact of the mark. The mark should maintain a minimum of one-quarter inch clearance on all sides. One exception is when working with digital-based formats. It is always best to respect the mark area as much as possible. 1/4 X 1/4 X 1/4 X 1/4 X X 1/4 X 1/4 X 1/4 X 1/4 X X The Typography Sackers Gothic Std Heavy is the only typeface used for the Alpha Gamma Rho mark. The typeface for “ALPHA GAMMA RHO” is always displayed in all caps. The typeface for “NURTURE. GROW. GIVE. REPEAT.” is also always displayed in all caps and should be one-half the size of “ALPHA GAMMA RHO”. After each word of the tagline, a period plus one space must be included. SACKERS GOTHIC STD. HEAVY ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz 1234567890 These guidelines only apply to use with the Alpha Gamma Rho mark. When in the middle of text, you should follow traditional grammar uses and punctuation. Arial may be substituted for e-mail signatures only. Even though this is the typeface, you should use the complete mark whenever possible. The typography of the mark may never be altered. To download the Alpha Gamma Rho mark, visit www.AlphaGammaRho.org. Other AGR Graphics Alpha Gamma Rho holds several events throughout the year. Some events are reoccurring, but many feature new aspects. For such events, the Fraternity prefers a completely new graphic be designed. For example, the National Convention and Leadership Seminars are reoccuring events, however, each year new seminars, workshops, etc., are featured. Therefore, a new graphic distinctly different from the Alpha Gamma Rho mark should be utilized. Recruitment Schools/Academies and Adviser Forums are also reoccurring events, however, these events stay consistent and always feature the same curriculum. Therefore, the Alpha Gamma Rho mark should be used for these events. For materials lasting longer than seven years, the use of the Coat of Arms is preferred.
