Platinum Service guests can choose from spacious double or twin sleeper cabins. Platinum Service guests can expect the following feature and benefits on

Gold Service:
Gold Service evokes the romance of a bygone age and still includes everything you would expect in a contemporary travel experience. From a complimentary
welcome reception glass of bubbly, wine, beer of soft drink in the lounge to the linen tablecloths in the dining car, this is adventuring in style!
Gold Service guests can choose from either Twin or Single Sleeper Cabin accommodation.

By day, the compact Twin Berth Sleeper Cabins offer a comfortable three seater lounge, converting to an upper and lower sleeping berth at night.

Twin Berth Sleeper Cabins have private en suite facilities with a hide-away compact toilet, wash

basin and shower.
•
Single Berth Sleeper Cabins feature a comfortable lounge chair and foot rest by day and a single level sleeping berth by night.
•
Single Cabins are fitted with a wash basin. Showers and toilets are located at either end of the Gold Service carriage.

Red Service: The Ghan and The Indian Pacific
For travellers seeking the most economical way to travel Australia by train, Red Service offers excellent value and a choice of accommodation options.
Great Southern Rail recently relaunched its Red Service introducing the new ‘Matilda Café’ to compliment the newly refurbished Red Gum lounges and
Red Day/Nighter seats.
Red Service Sleeper Cabins
Offers comfortable, air-conditioned twin share sleeping accommodation to suit a holiday
budget. Red Sleeper Cabins comprise of two facing lounge chairs that afford splendid
views through a double glazed panoramic window. At night, the chairs convert to snug
upper and lower sleeping berths complete with crisp, clean sheets, pillows and quilts.
Red Sleeper Cabins provide guests with private washing facilities including fresh towels.
For convenience, there is a wardrobe, vanity mirror, power outlets, a reading lamp and
foldaway tables. Showers and toilets are located at the end of each carriage. Guests
travelling alone may be required to share a twin cabin with another guest of the same
gender. Guests can also enjoy the comfortable facilities of the Matilda Café’ and Red Gum
Lounge
Red Service Day/Nighter Seats
Red Service Day/Nighter seating is available on The Ghan and Indian Pacific and gives
guests the comfort and freedom to enjoy their journey. Seating is in comfortable twoabreast reclining chairs upholstered in pure woollen cloth trim, with individual reading
lights. There is generous leg room and the seats can swivel to face each other. Overhead
racks cater for hand luggage.
DVD Players are available for hire at minimal cost. Showers and toilet facilities are at the
end of each carriage with towels and soap provided, and guests can also access the
facilities of the Red Service Cafe. Pillows and blankets are also available for purchase for a
nominal fee.

Red Service: The Overland
This option is ideal for travellers looking for an economy option that offers an exceptional
level of comfort and freedom to move around. When compared with flying, driving or taking
the bus, the seats are more comfortable and offer greater personal leg room.
Red Service seats are two abreast and the plush, reclining seats swivel to face each other
if you prefer to mingle with your fellow travellers. For a drink, snack, or just a chance to
stretch your legs, visit the licensed Café 828 Carriage.
Red Premium Service: The Overland
Our Red Premium Service offers extra space and more comfort, with reclining seats that
offer even more leg room than business class airline seats. Two abreast to one side and a
single seat across the aisle, the seats swivel to face each other if you want to socialise with
your travelling companions.
The licensed Café 828 Carriage is a short stroll away for meals or drinks – including
espresso coffee - and if you don’t want to leave your seat, enjoy an a la carte meal, snack
or drink from our in-seat service.
