Pastors aren’t the only ones who are preachers. Each of our thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds serves to preach to those around us every day. May our preaching represent the God who has loved us and saved us in the cross and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. ~Pastor Bill Buschbom In class one day, Mr. Johnson pulled Johnny over to his desk after a test and said, “Johnny, I have a feeling that you have been cheating on your tests.” Johnny was astounded and asked Mr. Johnson to prove it. “Well,” said Mr. Johnson, I was looking over your test and the question was, ‘Who was our first president?’ and Mary, the girl next to you, put ‘George Washington,’ and so did you.” “So? Everyone knows that he was the first president!” “Well, just a minute,” said Mr. Johnson, “ The next question was, ‘Who freed the slaves?’ Mary put ‘Abraham Lincoln’ and so did you.” “Well, I read the history book last night and I remembered that,” said Johnny. “Wait, wait,” said Mr. Johnson. “The last question was, ‘Who was president during the Louisiana Purchase?’ Mary put ‘I don’t know, and you put ‘Me either.’” Submitted by Bob Corbin Homemade Ice Cream & Cakes 6:30 - 8:30 pm Main Dining Room & Activity Center Special Entertainment by: FLATLAND STRING BAND Wichita, KS Thursday, August 6 7:00 pm Gospel Mennonite Group Sunday, August 9 Bethany Home Ice Cream Social 6:30 pm Monday, August 17 2:45 pm 6:30 pm Bingo w/ Immanuel Lutheran Smoky Valley 4H Program Friday, August 21 Lunch at Lindsborg Senior Center 11:30 am Sunday, August 23 3:00 pm Watermelon Feed Tuesday, August 25 6:30 pm Crystal Creek Band See the full Activity calendar online at BethanyHome.com
