Finding Nemo
After his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish
sets out on a journey to bring him home.
The themes in the movie are friendship and the love of a father. Dory reiterates the theme
of friendship throughout the movie, constantly reminding Merlin, Nemo’s father, to be
positive and have a go. She encourages Merlin and trusts those around her, always looking
for the good in others. The other theme is the love of the father. The father fish Marlin has
spent his life in fear must go on a long journey to save his son.

The movie begins with Nemo and his father, Merlin in the sea with the other
fish. Nemo is starting school. The teacher is Mr Ray they swim off as his
father worries about him.
The fish swim to the drop off and Nemo's father is there to tell him he
shouldn't be there. Nemo is in trouble, his father is worried about him. Nemo
takes off to prove he is a capable swimmer, disobeying his father. He comes
face to face with a diver.
Nemo is trapped by the diver and taken away. Marlin is frantic.
Dory steps in to help find Nemo. Dory has short term memory loss and is not
very helpful.
Dory and Marlin meet Bruce the shark. He insists they go to a party. They
swim to the depths of the ocean into a Fishaholics Anonymous meeting.
Marlin tells the sharks about Nemo
Nemo and Marlin have to escape from the sharks.
Nemo is placed in a fish tank in a dentist’s office. he is scared and wary of the
other creatures in the tank. he wants to go home
Pelican arrives at the window
Nemo gets stuck in the filter and after being encouraged he manages to get
himself out.
Merlin and Dory loose the mask which has the divers name and address written
on it.
Merlin and Dory are chased by another fish. They find the mask and Dory is
able to read the name and address. The big fish gets trapped.
In the tank, Nemo's new friends celebrate an initiation ceremony. They
rename him Sharkbait.
An escape plan is devised, to send Nemo (Sharkbait) up the air filter.
Merlin suggests that he may be better able to find Nemo on his own. Dory
wants to help. Dory is a true friend.
Dory and Merlin end up in the middle of a school of jellyfish. Merlin has to go

back to save Dory.
Back in the dentist's office the escape is ready to go. Nemo has to go through
the filter system to block it with a pebble. He gets caught and the others save
him.
Merlin is looked after by Crush the turtle, who tells him he is on
his way to Sydney.
Merlin apologises to Dory for getting her into so much trouble.
Crush tells Merlin that you know when it's time to let your children go.
Merlin tells the baby turtles the story of how Nemo became lost and the
adventure so far. The story spread to all the creatures, they are all on the
lookout for him to arrive in Sydney. They are looking for Nemo to help.
In the tank, Nemo apologises to Gill for not being successful in
the escape.
The pelican sits on the windowsill at the dentist and tells Nemo what his
father has been through to come and save him. He has another attempt at
stopping the filter. He is successful. The plan is to get the tank so dirty the
dentist will have to clean it, then they can escape.
Dory and Merlin jump off the current to land in Sydney Harbour.
Marlin has to trust Dory that she is right. They see a whale, and end up inside
it.
The tank is dirty and the dentist realises he has to clean the fish tank.
Dory and Merlin are stuck inside the whale. Dory sees it as half full, always on
the postitive side. Dory tells have to let go and see what happens. They escape
from the whale and arrive in Sydney.
The tank cleans overnight with an automatic scanner. The other fish try to
stop Nemo from being taking from the tank.
The pelican scoops up Dory and Merlin to escape from the seagulls and to take
them to Nemo.
The pelican flies into the dentist surgery to save Nemo. Gill escapes from the
tank to let Nemo escape down the drain.
Dory and Marlin are back in the harbour. Marlin has given up hope of finding
Nemo. Dory is trying to convince him to be positive.
Nemo finds his way into the harbour. He finds Dory. Dory has forgotten what
she was looking for. She remembers why she is there.
Nemo and Marlin find each other, then Dory becomes trapped in a fishing net.
Marlin has to learn to trust him. They tell all the fish to swim down against the
net together. They escape the net.
Nemo and Marlin are reunited and all is good.
