What is your favorite subject? Why do you enjoy studying it? Write
an opinion paragraph about your favorite subject.
My favorite subject is science because I like to
see many little bugs. It is also fun to do science
experiments. Science is fun but it can be a difficult
subject too. As much as there are fun experiments,
there can be hard lessons and experiments as well!
Some hard tasks are finding the little bugs to
observe them! I enjoy finding them on flowers and
watching them. After observations and
experiments, I also like presenting projects to share
the results with the class. I enjoy science the most
and I like it even more than when I was younger!

Energy is an important resource. Electricity is a kind of energy we use every day.
Write about how your life would be different without electricity.
Energy is very important. If there is no electricity, life
could be very different.
First, if there is no electricity, in the summer when you
are hot you can’t use the air conditioner or electric fans.
You will need to fan yourself with just a plastic fan. In the
winter when you are cold, you won’t be able to use
heaters. The only way you can keep yourself warm would
be in front of a fireplace.
Second, you will be unable to use the computer
dictionary when you are in need of finding definitions. You
would always need to carry a paper dictionary with you.
Lastly, you will have no lights! This means that when it
is dark, you wouldn’t be able to see anything and you
could put yourself in danger.
If there is no electricity, life would be very difficult.

I had a flute lesson at my teacher’s home. I told my
teacher about my orchestra audition last Sunday!
I got in and I was so happy! I jumped up and down
on my bed after I heard the great news. I love
music the best because music is a big part of my
life!

What makes a good friend? What characteristics does a good
friend have? What does a good friend do?
Good friends are kind. They smile a lot, too. They build good and
strong friendships. Sometimes, they protect many young children. Some
also give their excess food or toys to friends. Good friends pay attention
to you when you’re talking to him or her. He or she worries about you
when something is wrong and plays with you when you want to have
some fun. When you are angry, he or she would talk with you to help
you calm down. Good friends will be happy with you and for you. They
are always there beside you when you are in need of someone to talk
to. They will go through both hard and fun times with you and they will
always appreciate you if you treat them the same way you’d like to be
treated.

What makes a good friend? What characteristics does a good
friend have? What does a good friend do?
We could make ourselves a good friend if we show
our kindness. All good friends have a clear idea of what
they need to do when their friends need help or are in
danger. They will always be by your side to help you out.
A good friend cares about the people around them and
always wants to treat them right. Friends are hard to get
but easy to lose, too. To make friends, you need to be
kind and caring but be yourself at the same time. Once
there is a big argument, the friendship can get lost. So it’s
always important to communicate and talk to each other
well. My most important point is that you need to learn to
be kind to make friends and to have friends by your side.

Write an descriptive paragraph on a favorite teacher.
Hello! My name is Christina from MGT3. Today, i will talk
about my favorite teacher. My favorite teacher would have to be
Ms. Danielle because she is extremely nice. She teaches me
Vocabulary, Grammar, and Writing. Sometimes, she shows us
funny videos and gives a little break to have a good time. She has
two big eyes and very long hair. She has long lgs too. Her body is
not fat or thin – she has an average size body type. She is very
tall too! She teaches very well. During vocabulary time, when i
can’t understand some words, she makes sure to show pictures
or videos to help me better understand them. During grammar
time, she makes example sentences with the words just learned.
Them most students can understand. These are all reasons why I
like this teacher.

Write an descriptive paragraph on a favorite teacher.
My favorite teacher is Hong Jung Saeng. He taught me math and
science very well. Also, he’s funny so class time isn’t boring. He looks sort
of like a monkey and he is short. His personality is very sweet. At times, he
makes different things like air rockets, flying birds, spider robots, and racing
robots. As a result, all of my friends and I were amazed at his inventions.
The best thing is that he always makes us milk yogurt. We make strawberry
and apple jam at home and then we take it to school and we mix it with
the milk yogurt. My mom and I make the jam! It was popular amongst all
of my classmates. I miss him so much now and want to eat milk yogurt
with him again. I hoped that he would be my teacher again in the fourth
grade, but unfortunately he will be moving to another school. This made
me quite upset, but I’m hoping for another great teacher like him.

Write a fiction short story about what it would be like to live with a robot.
Kelly and John was taking an academy bus, when suddenly they found a
strange button! They were getting curious about the button so they decided to
click it. Wow! They teleported to Robot’s world! This was very fascinating to them
but they quickly wanted to go back to their friends and family. They didn’t
understand the robots‘ language. After a little time passed by, they started
playing with the robots to try and get along. One robot wore a white shirt so
Kelly and John could decorate it. A couple of robots were not wearing clothes so
Kelly and John decided to make shirts for them. However, this was the problem!
All the robots‘ body shapes were different so unfortunately, they couldn’t make
all the shirts.
Soon after, the robots showed their land’s pride. There were vehicles, icecream, potatoes, and many rides like those of an amusement park! Aalso, they
ate a lot of food. Now they were starting to adapt to the Robots‘ world. Kelly and
John were starting to learn the language.
After a period of time there, they cane back to Korea by a robot’s vehicle.
They were missed by family and friends. For Kelly and John, it was the best trip
ever.

Students in Korea attend after-school academies from a very young age. Instead of
enjoying their childhoods, Korean kids spend most of their time studying. Is it okay to
take away a child’s “right to play“? At what age is it appropriate to start sending
children to academies? Provide reasons and examples to support your opinion.
I think academies are important. I will say a few reasons to why I believe so.
First, if we go to academies, we can have more knowledge and become smarter. If
we don’t go to academies and only study in school, then we will be unable to
increase our knowledge of more things.
Secondly, academies help our future. If we learn more things from academies,
we have a higher possibility of getting into prestigious schools and good companies
for our career. If we get into a good company, we will be able to handle our living
expenses alot more comfortably.
Lastly, if we go to acadmies we will be filled with more knowledge! With
more knowledge comes great power, and it would help us to gain leadership. The
more knowledge we have of something, people will be able to follow and trust one
more. I think it will also make my parents quite proud.
These are reasons why I think academies are important. I’ve been going to an
English academy since I was 7 years old. I think we need to go to academies starting
at the age of 11. Up to age 11, we can study just in school but when we get to higher
grades, the work gets more difficult and we need more help from academies.
Overall, acadmies have more positive effects than negative.

Wearing a school uniform limits a student’s individuality, but school uniforms can
create a sense of equality at school. Do you think school uniforms are beneficial?
Why or why not? Provide reasons and examples to support your opinion.
I think that school uniforms are beneficial because nowadays, children are
getting bullied by their outer looks and clothing. Schools should use uniforms to
make sure there is equality within the students.
Fashion is not related to education. If the students wear what they want, it
can be distracting for other students. Fashion does not have a correlation to
academics and it does not need so much attention paid. School is not a fashion street;
it’s not a place where fashion is so important. Students are getting bullied for what
they wear. For the reason of fashion, the children get bullied by the wealthier who
have the comfort to wear, perhaps nicer clothes. In Westchester Country, New York,
girls have been attacked by the latest fad in socks. It is not a good enough reason to
be bullied by others just for fashion.
Tthis concludes my assertion that it is better to have school uniforms. It can
be worn easily, it can prevent more cases of bullying on school grounds, and it forms
equality.

Some government officials in Seoul want to provide free lunches to all elementary and
middle school students. Do you think free lunches should be provided? Provide reasons and
examples to support your opinion.
I think that free lunches should be provided to all elementary and middle school students.
Eating meals are essential to having a good life. Also, low-income families don’t have the ability to
afford food. Lastly, students must be healthy and happy if they want to learn effectively.
First, eating meals are essential to having a good and happy life. Eating plays a big part in
our lives. If students don’t eat, this can cause health problems. Children are the future of our society,
so we must provide meals to help them grow into healthy citizens of society for our better future.
Second, low-income families are too poor to buy food. If these children can’t eat, they will
have a difficult time studying and focusing during school as well. If these children cannot eat food at
school, then where should they go get it? The most logical answer is to provide them at least in
schools. Citizens pay a lot of taxes to the government. The least thing that the government can do
other than providing education, is giving meals to hungry students.
Last, students must be healthy and happy if they want to learn effectively. Without learning,
our economy would have a higher chance of failing. Places like Samsung and LG earn lots of money
by selling electronical products such as smartphones, tablets, and computers. These big companies
help our economy, and these companies exist because of the well-educated employees. This shows
that well-educated workers help our economy. If we want to continue helping our economy to grow,
then we must give students meals so they can learn effectively for a brighter future.
Free lunches should be provided because eating meals are essential to having a good and
happy life, low-incomefamilies may not be able to provide their own children with food, and
students must be healthy in order to learn effectively and lead a bright future.
