Yes, the DC app uses a small amount of data in order to transmit your location back to the store. The average data usage is 1MB per shift (5 hours) (or ~30MB a month). Most typical phone plans offer between 1,000 and 8,000 MB of data per month so this is a tiny amount. Does Delivery Command use my battery? Yes, the GPS receiver on your phone does consume more power than other features on the phone. To help with this Delivery Command provides a six way charging station in your store which includes charging cables, in-car chargers, in car phone mounts and even portable battery packs. The increased battery consumption will only occur while you are “On shift” and tracking. When you go “Off shift” the effect on the battery is negligible. You may also notice your phone getting hot when in navigation mode, this is also normal and is due to increased current consumption from the CPU and GPS so don't be alarmed. Does Delivery Command Track me when I am at home? No, You have complete control over when you are tracked or not. You enable/disable tracking by marking yourself as “On” or “Off” shift. When you arrive for work go “On Shift” and you will start tracking. At the end of your shift mark yourself “Off Shift” and you will stop tracking. If you forget, Delivery Command will automatically take you Off shift every night at 2am. Got an idea for Delivery Command that will make your life as a driver easier?
