Typical Properties Appearance Viscosity at 25°C Refractive index at 25°C Colorless to pale yellow 10,000 mm2/s 1.58 performance. It is suitable for stick, gel or liquid products. Long-lasting gloss for color cosmetics Customers want three qualities from lip gloss and lipstick. They want a high shine that brightens the lips and offers vibrant color, plumping action that helps make lips look fuller and longlasting wear so they do not need to reapply the cosmetic as often. Dow Corning® PH-1560 Glossy Fluid combines the high shine, plumping effect and durability customers want in a unique high-phenyl-content silicone fluid. Its high viscosity and reflectivity provide the long-lasting shine that is the key to your product’s success, in a formulation that improves sensory Better coverage of fine lines, higher gloss, richer color and longer-lasting wear for lips that look fuller: Dow Corning PH-1560 Glossy Fluid can help you put a smile on your customer’s face. Better shine, better looks, better feel The high viscosity and high reflectivity of Dow Corning PH-1560 Glossy Fluid is a unique pairing of qualities that allow this material to meet the needs of consumers. It has a much higher refractive index at high viscosity than competitive products (Figure 1). The high viscosity helps maintain a glossy layer on the skin, resulting in the perception of the fuller, glossy look customers want (Figure 2). A test panel determined a lip color formulation containing Dow Corning® PH-1560 Glossy Fluid was significantly less sticky and easier to apply compared to a control formulation without the silicone (Figure 3). In another evaluation, a lip gloss formulation with Dow Corning PH-1560 Glossy Fluid provided more gloss and smooth surface benefits than a commercial benchmark (Figure 4). When comparing neat samples of Dow Corning PH-1560 Glossy Fluid and polyisobutene (PIB), panelists noted higher gloss and lower tackiness associated with the silicone (Figure 5).
