NOTICE of RACE
The Polish Kite Association PSKite and The Ford Kite Cup are pleased to invite kiteboard sailors to take part in the
Polish Championship Freestyle & Racing Polish Championships 2013, under specified conditions laid down by the
Polish Kite Association PSKite in co-operation with IKA between the dates of
15 till 18 August, 2013

1 EVENT
1.1 Ford Kite Cup and PSKite Polish Championship will be held from 15.08.2013 (Day of Registration and first start) to
th
17.08.2013 (Day of Prize giving). 18 August – a reserve day in case of no wind in the first 3 days.
1.2 The Event includes the following Disciplines:
- Course Racing Men and Women;
- Freestyle Men and Women;
- 4 entries are required to constitute additional age division.
1.3 The Event will be graded by as 20 point according to the IKA/ISAF point system
1.4 The total award are 10.000PLN (cash) and 15000PLN (item awards).
2 VENUE
2.1 The event will be based in Jastarnia, Hel Penisula, on the Baltic site, Poland. Nearest Airport – Gdańsk.
2.2 Conditions to be expected – prevailing wind for August light winds, stronger winds only in case of lows passing
through the Baltic, water temperature 18-20 C; air temperature 18 - 25 C and relative average humidity level 70%
3 RULES
3.1 This is an IKA sanctioned event governed by:
3.1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016 (RRS)
3.1.2 RRS Appendix F applies.
3.1.3 PSKite Racing and Freestyle Championship Rules.
3.1.4 The SI will specify a number of rules amendments, including limiting the possibility to request redress, the
requirement to include a tack and a gybe when taking a turn penalty, re-introduction of Rule 31 (a kiteboard shall
not touch a mark)
3.1.5 Some PSKite prescriptions will apply (for instance: racing open class allowed but not scored).
3.1.6 This Notice of Race (NoR) and the Sailing Instructions (SI).
3.2 If there is a conflict between languages, the Polish text will take precedence.
4 ENTRY REGULATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY
4.1 The regatta is open to equipment of the IKA class (“Formula Kite Equipment”) and Open Class (any equipment
including foils). Only IKA Formula Kite Class will be scored.
4.2 This is a limited entry event. Entry numbers are limited as follows: racing - 40 men and 20 women; freestyle – 32
men and 16 women.
4.3 The entry application deadline is 15.07.2013
4.4 Competitors shall provide the following documentation prior to completing registration formalities on site:
- Proof of Entry Fee payment
- Evidence of valid third party insurance – minimum 1 million Euro
- Proof of age
- Parental/legal Guardian Assent - for those under age of 18
- Medical Treatment Permission - for those under age of 18 or on their parents medical insurance policy
4.5 The on-site registration will take place at an Event Tent on the spot.
5 FEES
5.1 The Entry Fee is 100PLN
5.2 Entries made on site shall be made in cash only. Only PLN are accepted.

On the last day of the regatta no Warning Signal will be made after 1600 hours.
Social events final programme will be affixed on the Official Notice Board.
8 FORMAT
8.1 Men and women may race together but scored separately.
8.2 The regatta will consist of an racing series and. No practise, elimination ladder and medal series in racing.
9 COURSES
9.1 The courses will be Windward/Leeward or any other courses adopted by IKA or ISAF
9.2 Courses to be sailed will be described in the Sailing Instructions or on the Official Notice Board
10 ADVERTISING
10.1 ISAF Regulation 20 - Advertising Code- shall apply.
10.2 Competitors may be required to carry advertising for event sponsors – both on their kiteboards, and on a lycra
vest, if supplied by the organiser.
11 EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
11.1 It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that his/her board and equipment conforms to its Class
Rules in case of IKA Formula Kite Equipment.
11.2 There will be no official measurement prior to the first race. All measurement might be done post racing.
11.3 Special Notice is drawn to the use of leashes and fully functional depower and quick-release systems.
11.4 Competitors shall bring their own equipment.
11.5 Competitors shall ensure that a completed “Equipment Registration Form” is returned to the Race Office during
the official on-site registration time. Exceptions may only be granted by the Race Committee.
11.6 Information on measurement will be posted on the official notice board.
11.7 A board or equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules and sailing instructions.
11.8 Substitution of damaged or lost equipment will not be allowed unless approved by the Race Committee. Kites
may only replaces with a class legal kite in the same size category as the damaged or lost kite. Requests for
substitution shall be made to the Race Committee at the first reasonable opportunity.
12 IDENTIFICATION
12.1 Every competitor is required to wear the official event lycra with his personal identification number whenever
competing
13 BUOYANCY
If the use of personal flotation devices is prescribed, every competitor shall wear the jacket harness or vest.
14 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
14.1 The event SIs' will be posted on the official notice board at first skippers meeting latest, and available at the
event and/or PSKite website and by hard copy on request only. The Event Programme scheduling social events will
be published on the official notice board
14.2 Alterations to the SIs shall be approved by the PSKite Representative.
15 SCORING
15.1 At least 3 races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
15.2 The low point system of Appendix A will apply. The Sailing Instructions will describe any system that is carrying
over scores from one stage of the event to another, as well as discards and the scoring system for the medal race
series.
15.3 Other scoring systems may be used as authorized by PSKite.
16 PENALTY SYSTEM
16.1 The Penalty System of RRS 44 as amended through the SI will apply. The penalty turn requires to include a tack
and a gybe.
16.2 Sailing Instructions may alternatively specify that competitors may chose between the turn penalty and a
scoring penalty
16.3 Discretional penalties will be used as outlined in the Sailing Instructions.
17 FREESTYLE SEEDING
Top 8 competitors will be seed according to the Ford Kite Cup Ranking 2013. The rest of competitors will be drawn.
18 FREESTYLE FORMAT
Single and double elimination or dingle elimination or robin system will be used.
19 STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT
19.1 On completion of registration and continuing until the end of the regatta, when ashore (other than when
launching and retrieving), all equipment shall be kept in their assigned places at storage tent. Access to equipment in
the storage area during certain hours, including hours of darkness may be restricted.
20 MEDALS AND PRIZES
20.1 Medals or trophies shall be awarded to the competitors according to PSKite Rules.
20.2 Prizes will be awarded as follows:

21 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
21.1 Competitors take part in all races at their own risk. The PSKite, Ford Kite Cup or any of their officials or
representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any circumstances,
for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result.
21.2 Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole discretion of the sailor and
at his/her own risk. Notice is drawn to RRS 4.
22 INSURANCE
22.1 Competitors shall possess valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1 million Euro. Third
party liability insurance (2 million Euro cover) is available online through the IKA website
http://www.internationalkiteboarding.org/insurance.
22.2 Coach and support boat drivers shall also have a valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1
million Euro.
23 TELEVISION AND MEDIA
In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organising Authority the right in perpetuity to
make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed
television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Championship as
defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.
24 OFFICIAL CEREMONIES
24.1 Attendance at the Opening Ceremony, Prize Giving and Closing Ceremony is mandatory.
24.2 The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to those whose standard of attire is not commensurate with the
occasion.
25 DRUG TESTING
Competitors are reminded of the ISAF rules and regulations concerning the use of banned methods and substances.
Drug testing may take place during the event.
