HSBC BANK OMAN SHOWCASES LATEST BANKING AND FINANCE OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDENTS AT SQU CAREER FAIR Muscat, March 2014 – HSBC Bank Oman S.A.O.G. showcased the wide range of career paths available in the banking industry to more than 15,000 students at this year’s Sultan Qaboos University Career and Training Opportunities Fair. The annual event, organised by the SQU Centre for Career Guidance, allowed HSBC Bank Oman to connect directly with Omani students and discover potential candidates for the Bank’s Graduate Training Programme. Ali Al Abri, General Manager and Country Head of Human Resources, HSBC Bank Oman, said, “Participating in the SQU Career Fair gives us a great opportunity to establish direct contact with students and graduates as they take the next steps to becoming Oman’s future industry leaders. Understanding the aspirations of young Omanis has allowed us to gain an insight into their skills and preferences. This helps us build and tailor our in-house training programmes more appropriately, to support graduates in reaching their potential, and helping to attract local talent to the bank as part of our ongoing commitment to nationalisation.” HSBC Bank Oman’s exhibition stand was manned by three graduate trainees who had recently joined HSBC Bank Oman, and who shared their experiences so far and offered students an insight into the academic choices required for a career in banking. The Bank will launch its next graduate intake soon and will once again work closely with each candidate to match their career aspirations to opportunities available in HSBC Bank Oman. HSBC Bank Oman combines its extensive local knowledge and global expertise to support the growing local talent pool in a rapidly-expanding and competitive job market. As it continues on its journey to become the leading bank in Oman, HSBC Bank Oman is committed to continuing to build connections with academic institutions to help develop students for future careers in Oman’s banking sector. -ENDS- PUBLIC
