GENERAL
You are invited to apply to participate in a friendly sailboat race to be held Saturday, September 10, 2016. The race will be held in Pursuit format
with reverse start times given (Slow boats start first with ratings built into start time).
ENTRY FEE
Free. There will be a post race BBQ at Shanty Town following the race. All are encouraged to bring a dish and join.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Races will be governed by the International Sailing Federation’s The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016 (RRS); including the prescriptions of
US Sailing. These include modifications to the RRS as provided for by these Sailing Instructions.
Taunting is accepted and encouraged.
CLASSES AND RESTRICTIONS

Course:
The course shall be as follows: (all marks left to port)
From start – DP5, thence to DP7,
thence to Detroit River Outer range light,
thence to mark DPB
thence to mark DP3 (finish)
You may go the opposite way around the island if you wish. Leave the marks on the appropriate side.
START LINE
The start is between DP3 and the RC flag at WYC break wall. It is the competitor’s responsibility to be somewhere near the line at their start time.
FINISH LINE
For all classes, the finish line is between the mast displaying the RC flag on the W.Y.C. porch and spar buoy DP3 opposite.
START TIMES
The start time will consist of a warning gun at 1500. Individual start times will be calculated on the individual boats rating for a distance of
4.67NM and posted at www.windsoryachtclub.com. Available via VHF on channel 68 at start time
