It has offices in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Sofia and Warsaw. www.ecfr.eu Job purpose The Communications Officer will join ECFR’s Advocacy and Communications team to strengthen ECFR’s profile and outreach in the German media market. They will work closely with the ECFR Berlin office team to support their communications and outreach efforts to the German press, policy community and wider public. Responsibilities: Raise ECFR profile in Germany by devising and implementing appropriate media strategies in support of ECFR priorities, in close cooperation with the Communications Manager and the Berlin office team. Place ECFR’s policy analysis and recommendations in the German media and help framing policy debates in Germany along ECFR’s research and overall mission. Support ECFR policy fellows in their media work in Germany. Ensure the monitoring of media outlets relevant to ECFR’s work and expand network of journalists and other stakeholders covering ECFR programme areas. Produce German language press releases and ensure quality of translations of ECFR external communication in German language. Support the Heads of Office in Berlin in their external communication activities Manage ECFR Berlin news bulletin, the Berlin office web page, and social media channels in close coordination with the Heads of Office Ensure appropriate branding according to cooperation agreements and funding partners. Support ECFR’s overall communication strategies as appropriate. Person Specification: Demonstrable experience within a demanding media operation with an international dimension General knowledge of European media environments, with specific knowledge of German media Knowledge of modern techniques and technology available to press offices Excellent communication skills and proficient in both English and German (written and spoken). Ability to work individually as well as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-national team Proven capacity to work under pressure and manage a busy workload Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required. Ability to work in other major European languages an advantage. Interest in and knowledge of international affairs and European foreign policy. Command of CRM and CMS software.
