October brings a first collaboration between the Rochester Oratorio Society [ROS] with the newly-formed
Humanities Center at the University of Rochester, culminating in the performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s majestic
oratorio ELIJAH by the ROS on October 30. Entitled “Mendelssohn and his world,” the month-long festival explores
the music, the life and times of composer Felix Mendelssohn through a weekly discussions and presentations, all
free of charge.
