If I had to name one thing though, I would say Tiger Tots has helped my sons develop into caring and sharing individuals who are able to interact with others, and the world around them.” Jeffrey Mindich ~ Parent and ICRT Senior News Anchor Play and Centers set the stage for learning and provide the medium through which the children imitate, explore, test ideas, acquire information, and draw conclusions. Activities and materials are carefully planned in a developmentally appropriate manner within a challenging and exciting learning environment. Innate curiosity, social skills, independence, and creativity are emphasized and encouraged. OUR TEACHERS Dedication, interest in professional development, creativity, and a love of children are characteristics of all our staff. Our head teachers are certified educators and have a minimum of two years experience. Our teaching assistants have been with us for many years and also bring a wealth of experiential knowledge to each class. The diversity of our staff is a positive reflection of the multiculturalism present in all of our classrooms. CURRICULUM O u r te a c h e rs p ra c t i c e a n e m e rge n t curriculum approach in which the interests of the students are discovered and developed throughout the year. It's a very exciting and unique way for our children to learn; they tell us what interests them, and then we tell them more! Benchmarks and skills are woven into the themes presented and are based on North American guidelines. “We’ve really enjoyed having our child in Tiger Tots. He always comes home and shares the daily experiences he has had with his classmates and teachers. He has grown and learned a tremendous amount. Thank you to everyone at Tiger Tots for all your support and guidance.” “Tiger Tots has cheerful classrooms, and the learning activities provided are well organized and great fun for kids. The teachers and administrative staff are all sincere and hard-working people, respecting each 'little individual', which gives me comfort as I know my daughter is in good hands!” Kathy Hodges ~ TAS Teacher and Parent Miki Sanui ~ Parent Collaboration, Continued Growth, and Community (Tiger Tots’ Teacher Motto) ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE PARENT INVOLVEMENT With our open-door policy and consistent parent volunteers, we can truly be viewed as a unique and special “community” of learners. We welcome parents into our family, cherish their giving attitudes, and greatly appreciate their support, insight, and help. “As a parent volunteer, it is assuring to be a part of the open and loving community which is such an important part of my child's life. My youngest son will join Tiger Tots next year, and I can’t wait to see him in action.” Jaya Hiranandani ~ Teacher and Parent Tiger Tots recognizes that some of our learners are still learning, or even just beginning to develop their English skills. Typically, it takes a child anywhere from 2 to 5 years to fully develop a second language (Pelkey, 1999). We help children work towards Bilingualism through differentiated instruction practices and supporting their native language, all while immersing them in an English-rich and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. “What Tiger Tots has given my daughter, well, there just aren't words that aptly describe the growth, love, nurturing and mentoring she has received from her teachers and the director of the program. We have seen and experienced heartfelt caring for our daughter in so many wonderful ways.” Mark Peterson ~ Parent Tiger Tots Place Please contact Ms. Joanna Lee to arrange a visitation appointment for you and your child.
