Sherwood Forest is the only agency of its kind helping St. Louis youth growing up in poverty. We
connect with, educate, and inspire these kids who need it most and help them grow up to become
successful. The heart of our program is a month-long, residential summer camp experience which
takes place at our camp facility in Lesterville, MO, about two hours south of St. Louis. Summer
camp employment at Sherwood Forest is from May 15 through August 4, 2017.
Our Quest program blends traditional
camp adventures with evidence-based
programs that reinforce and support
school-year learning. Overnight campouts, extended backpacking trips, and
river excursions are balanced by activities
such as Book Club and the Creative and
Performing Arts Program.
Sherwood Forest offers an environment
of acceptance, support, self-discovery,
and learning like no other. We establish
and maintain long-term relationships with
children and their families, stretching from
their first year as a Mini Camper, all the way
through college graduation.
Every phase of the Quest program is
designed to promote individual growth.
We serve youth in grades 1 through 9 from
the greater St. Louis region.

from the last 35
years have gotten
back in touch with

We are seeking enthusiastic
individuals who enjoy working with
youth and are interested in working for
a residential summer camp. We have
positions available in Arts, Outdoor
Living Skills, STEM, Reading, Aquatics,
and Adventure Sports, as well as
cooking and culinary arts. Internships are also available.
