Multi-Stream Solution Analyzer Features • Can simultaneously measure 8 elements • Can receive between 1 and 16 streams per analyzer • Energy Dispersive XRF technique of analysis • Stainless steel frame and construction. • Stainless steel or polypropylene wetted parts. • Simple, low maintenance design. • De-multiplexing of streams available if required. • Metallurgical shift sampling available. • Flush capabilities for scaling solutions. The Thermo Scientific MSSA provides a continuous window into the hydrometallurgical process which allows operators or an automatic control system to increase plant efficiency, quality and recovery. Specific Benefits Monitoring the transfer of metal species through different stages of the plant, viz pregnant liquor solution, organic and electrolytes. • Monitoring contaminant species in copper SX / EW in aqueous streams. • Automation of the rectifiers in the EW plant. • Optimization of the electrical energy use in the EW plant by minimizing peak power loads. Contributes to increased current efficiency by: • Optimization of current density based on metal concentration in the • electrolyte to improve cathode quality. • Automation of reagent dosing. • Man power savings due to the decrease in control samples analyzed by the laboratory. Product Specifications Thermo Scientific MSSA The Thermo Scientific Multi-Stream Solution Analyzer (MSSA) provides continuous online analysis of solution streams and is capable of measuring elements as low as sulphur in the periodic table. This provides cost effective, real-time analysis of key elements and other variables from sampled stream lines in hydrometallurgical operations such as SX/EW and refineries. Operating Principles The MSSA automatically switches each stream past the analysis head in turn. The MSSA sample handling system includes: • Sample inlet manifold for connection of the incoming sample lines. • Multiplexer Unit consisting of inlet valves, header tank, level sensor tube, wash system. • Flow cell for presentation of the sample to the detector. • Demultiplexer unit consisting of an array of outlet valves (maximum 8 streams). • Samplers for calibration and shift average sampling. Specifications Service and Support Regular service and maintenance of your sampling and analysis equipment will optimize accuracy and availability, providing you with the assurance that you are not left blind to process upsets. We offer a range of service contracts that can be tailored to fit your needs and budget. Possible inclusions are operator training, calibration and a preventative maintenance program.
