Jason hits the jackpot!
Imagine winning up to €10,000 .. well it could be you if you're our next
lucky Lotto winner! Jason McDonnell, coach of our U10 boys team and
former club player himself, swooped our most recent Lotto Draw 2
Jackpot. He plays Lotto Online every week and always enters the same
numbers - the birthdays of his wife and three children. He was delighted
that he chose to automatically renew his Lotto subscription when he
signed up online as that means he never misses a draw. It's never been
easier to play the Lotto as it can now be played online by clicking here.
Jason plays the weekly Lotto draw to help our fundraising efforts and to
give something back to the club he has been with for the last 28 years plus he has the chance to win cash prizes. As well as providing much
needed funds for investing in special projects, it allows the club to provide
the playing and training facilities we need on an ongoing basis.

A bright, sunny Sunday morning provided the perfect setting for the third
match of the season for our minor Isles of the Sea hurlers, this time
against Ballyboden St Endas. The niggling started before the referee had
even thrown in the sliotar, but that didn’t stop Isles getting off to a quick
start with a pointed free and a point from play from Robert Kennedy
followed by a converted 65 from Daragh Levins. They continued to
dominate much of the play and duly got to the half-time break 0-8 to 0-2
ahead. The second half started well for them and they notched up
another six points. With 10 minutes to go they were 10 points up but a
couple of late goals from Boden saw the margin reduced to three points.
Daragh Levins was particularly strong at full back and both David
McGauran and Conor Ennis had a great match at corner back. The half
back line of Connor Barnes, Sean Barry and Conor Farrelly performed
extremely well. The work rate from Eoghan McKay and Ted Walsh in the
centre of the field was immense. The half forwards, David Kennedy,
Robert Kennedy and Seamus McCann all got on the scoreboard. Patrick
Duffy, Tomás O'Connell and Conor Rimmer in the full forward line
defended well from the front. Substitutes Scott Collopy (corner forward),
Karl Morgan (full forward) and Matthew O'Rourke (wing forward)
performed well when they came on. Dean Fitzpatrick in goals was his
usual reliable self and provided some great puck outs. Special mention
goes to Sean Barry who left the field temporarily with a dislocated finger
but was soon back on the pitch having had it put back into position!
Scorers: Robert Kennedy 0-7 (3f); Daragh Levins 0-3 (2 '65, 1f); David
Kennedy 0-2; Eoghan McKay, Seamus McCann 0-1 each. This makes it two
wins out of three for the team and leaves them in second place in the
league table.

U12 Girls continue strong season
Following comprehensive pre-Easter wins over Thomas Davis and
Ballyboden, Our U12 girls footballers were recalled from their Easter
holidays to take on two strong teams from Ballinteer St. Johns. A well
drilled and skilful team, Ballinteer have always provided a quality and
competitive contest.
Clanns were quicker to shake off the chocolate poisoning, winning both
their first matches in the tie. There were some excellent individual efforts;
however, it was the sharp passing and running off the ball which created
large gaps in the opposition defences which were heavily punished. The
second matches showed the dominance of Clanns with very strong starts
and a high level of fitness coming to the fore. The coaches were delighted
to see all 20 players making such strong contributions. The final combined
score from the four games was 20-15 to 1-6 to Clanns. Next match is away
against Cuala.
Fun at the Féile
The second part of this year’s Féile journey, the Hurling Féile or Féile na
nGael, takes place this weekend - 29th and 30th April. Our boys will be
playing their group matches in Westmanstown sports complex to the
following schedule:
10.30 Clanns v St Perigrines
11.45 Clanns v Round Towers (Clondalkin)
13.00 Clanns v Westmanstown Gaels
14.00 Lunch
If they win the group, they will stay in Westmanstown for the semi final at
16.00hrs. If they come second in the group, they will travel to the Erin Go
Bragh club in Mullhuddart to play a semi final. Either way a semi final win
would see them play in the final in Parnell Park on Sunday morning at
11.00am. Stranger things have happened! All support is welcome. Clans

The boys had a great day at the football Féile, performing well in the group
games but coming up short in the semi final. Great credit and thanks is
due to all the coaches - Nicky English and Austin Dodd in hurling and
Austin and David Meenan in the football. Special thanks also to the
fundraising team and to Siona Lyndon for all the assistance.
