GRACE BIBLE MISSION PO BOX 1414 Lee’s Summit MO 64063-7414 A MINISTRY TO CATHOLIC, JEWISH & MUSLIM PEOPLE General Director - James Mohr [email protected] (316) 461-6243 (Murphy (913) 645-8896) IN FOCUS by Lyle Murphy Benedict Bows Out! For the first time in 600 years, a pope has resigned! Benedict retains the title ”His Holiness.” Formerly, he was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. While in charge of the Congregation for Defense of the Faith [formerly the Inquisition!], Ratzinger was universally hated. Now the next pontiff should be “Peter the Roman,” by prophecy the last pope for all time! _______________________ Dorothy is introducing an interested Catholic to the introduction of the Bible. The lady is not saved as yet. Vesta had good news from her doctor. She is still cancer-free after 13 years. She asks prayer for two unsaved lady Gentiles and an unsaved Jewess in her Bible classes. Lyle just sent a new Gospel presentation to the Mohr’s next door neighbor, Al. Al lives right next door to the Mission Home. RECEIPTS ENCLOSED March 2013 Jim’s Angle th The Grace Bible Mission Team met on Feb 9 at the Mission Home for a time of getting acquainted. From left to right: Lyle and Jane Murphy, Audrey and Jim Mohr, Dorothy Callier and Vesta Rehkugler. It was the first opportunity Audrey and I had to meet Vesta and Dorothy. Psalm 71:17 speaks about how the Psalmist loved to proclaim God’s wondrous deeds in his life. In that vein, we took time for each of us to share how God had worked in our lives to bring us to where we are now. It was great hearing of God’s work and faithfulness in each of our lives and we rejoiced as we shared in each other’s story. We also took time individually to share some of the things we are asking God for in the future. It was fun for Audrey and me to have this meeting in our new home. You’ll notice from the photo that we still don’t have our pictures hung on the walls but that will come. We hope God gives us many opportunities to use this home in many ways for His glory. Out and About! We’ve had five occasions to visit and share with various groups in the Kansas City area about what God has called us to and to highlight the ministry of Grace Bible Mission. The Murphy’s have been our companions on all of those visits. I have had opportunities to speak to large groups at several locations and with small groups or individuals at others. We have found a very warm reception and experienced great fellowship with all. If you are part of a group that would like to know more about Grace Bible Mission or need a speaker to talk about missions in general or about personal discipleship, I would be honored to be considered. --Continued on Back Page-- Website and Newsletter News Yeshua (Jesus) & Passover Our website is being updated to reflect the current information regarding GBM. Also, you will now be able to see all of the past year’s newsletters on the website as well as the current newsletter. They are available as pdf documents and beginning with this March issue, the online version will be in color. Jesus ate the Passover with his disciples, saying that he had eagerly desired to eat this Passover with them before he suffered and that he would not eat it again until the kingdom of God comes (Luke 22:7-16). After the Passover meal, they sang a hymn and went to the Mount of Olives (Matt. 26:30). The hymn sung during Passover is the Hallel which includes Psalm 118:22: "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone." Jesus is the cornerstone that the builders rejected (Matt. 21:42; 1 Peter 2:7). Jesus was crucified as the "Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). The Lord's Supper is a remembrance of his sacrifice as the perfect Passover Lamb and the fullfilment of the new covenant between God and man (Luke 22:20; 1 Cor. 5:7; Eph. 2:11-13). Prophecy of this sacrifice is found in Psalm 22. The Hebrew prophet Isaiah also spoke of the sufferings and sacrifice of the Messiah (Isa. 53). Our web address is: www.gracebiblemissionsociety.com. Check it out! Take Note! With this March issue of our newsletter, we are beginning to “mail” them as pdf documents by email. If you would like to receive your newsletter by email instead of USPS, please email me at [email protected] and I will add you to that list. If you normally receive a receipt with your mailed copy, we will continue to send it that way. GBM Board Meeting, March 23, 2013 The Board of Directors for Grace Bible Mission meets this month. We would appreciate your prayers for this semi-annual meeting in which much needs to be accomplished. Please pray that each of the board members will be available, in good health and that all we say, do and think would be “as unto the Lord and not unto men”. Our house with snow. This is before the second round of snow we got on Feb 26th. Fascinating Facts Jesus' parents traveled to Jerusalem yearly to celebrate Passover. At age 12, Jesus went with them (Luke 2:41-50). The Passover lamb must be a perfect male with no blemish (Ex. 12:5). The cup of the Lord's Supper is the third cup of the Passover Seder, the Cup of Redemption. The bread of the Lord's Supper is the Afikomen. It is the matzah that is broken, hidden, found, bought for a price, and then eaten to end the meal. Afikomen means "I came" in Greek.
