Detects antibodies to nonstructural protein
3ABC, a marker for FMD infection
Detects All FMD Serotypes1
FMD virus produces both structural proteins
(SPs) and nonstructural proteins (NSPs). Marker
vaccines are based on SPs alone, so vaccinated
animals develop only SP antibodies. Cattle
and sheep with FMD infection, on the other
hand, develop antibodies to both proteins. The
presence of the NSP antibodies identifies an
animal as infected.

3ABC. The test accurately detects infection,
